Q: Is there a way that you locate the sheets of paper in such a way that when you need to punch an additional amount of sheets that it will be locating in the same position so holes line up correctly?

Q: Is there a button to lock the handle down when not in use?

A: NCR- Thank you for your interest in the Swingline 3 Hole Punch. There isn't a button, but the punch when it comes brand new out of the box, has a green clip attached on the middle punch pin. that clip is what keeps the punch in a "locked" position while it sits in the packaging on shelf. that green clip can be reused for locking the punch. I have this in my kids' playroom (or what is slowly turning into the homework room as they are getting older). Next to this hole punch I keep a binder where each kid can put their favorite pieces of school work that they don't want to throw away. This whole punch is easy enough to operate that they can stick their paper into it, hole punch it, and stick their work into their binder on their own. I would have liked a few more color options and I did see that there was a white option available but that was more expensive which seemed unnecessary.

Looks nice and feels heavy, however the middle hole had a teeny tiny piece of metal hanging down so I couldn’t get paper in there! My husband took a thin knife and tried to bend the metal away to make it work properly. It worked for one use and then the metal hung down again. We kept trying just avoid needing to return it. Nothing worked and we will be returning…

I messed up so many papers trying to punch holes with this hole puncher… if you’re trying to punch more than 3 pages at a time get ready to have your papers botched… this is the worst whole puncher ever… I thought that it could be adjusted and it can’t… waste of money… I’m bringing it back to Target

This thing can only punch through ONE page at a time, and it is hard to fit pieces of paper in between the cutters. If you don't line it up the way the hole punch likes, you are left with holes dangerously close to the edge of your page. If you try two or more, forget about it. I was surprised because Swingline is such a known and long-standing brand. Go with another brand!
