Very boring!

I am a HUGE fan of Exploding Kittens and their games, but I am extremely disappointed in this game. It is not a word game, but a very boring number game that isn't really about palindromes, contrary to what was said on the description! Very basic.

Hands down our favorite family game at the moment! For those saying it is confusing…read the directions and try playing it again. My kids got it right away and it took me a few games to catch on. There is a lot of strategy and of course the luck of the cards you draw. Everyone from our 9 year old to grandparents love this game. I really like that it’s a quick play between rounds and less than 15 minutes to end the game. We always end up playing multiple games though because it’s so much fun!

My boyfriend and I love most games from Exploding Kittens, but this one sort of missed the mark. Its designed to only last 15 minutes which is great so that it doesn't run on forever, and the cards have entertaining pictures on them. We also liked that the box was the board for the game, which makes clean up super easy. However, it was a lot of confusing instructions for a game that just didn't end up being that fun. We might try it again and see if we like it any more, but its definitely not a go-to game.

A boring game that's well-dressed

We bought this at Target for $15. It seemed amusing enough and was specifically a 2 player game - just what we were looking for. The presentation is quite nice, as the box itself ends up being the game board once you open it up. Artistically and aesthetically, everything is laid out quite nicely. With it seeming to have such polish, you'd expect it to be fun. Unfortunately, I started to get bored during our first playthrough and it didn't make me want to keep playing thereafter. Thankfully, we were able to return it but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who wants a game they can keep playing over and over again. There's not much skill involved in Tacocat. There -are- some skillful elements such as being able to choose how 'powerful' of a card you wish to attack a player with. There are also 'duels' where each player puts one card face down, and whoever has the higher-numbered card [once the cards are turned face up] gets to go first. A strategic element here would be that you don't have to play your highest card in a duel, in case you want to save your stronger/strongest cards for later. Beyond that, everything is more or less about luck. I'll comment about the polish of the game again. You'd think for a game that's so pretty looking, that it'd be fun beyond 5-10 minutes once you start playing after learning how. This wasn't the case for us, though; it was a game that'd get tucked away after the first night and never touched again, because it isn't memorable whatsoever. I'd highly encourage you to just stay away. Your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Fast & fun game!

Another fun game by the Exploding Kittens game makers. The actual box is the game board, so it's very convenient to travel with, like other reviews mentioned. I thought it was a game of words & phrases based on the title, but it's actually more of a card game. Still very fun & each game is completed very quickly (not drawn out), so you can play multiple rounds & not get bored.

This is such a fun game! I love that it is two player so it’s one my husband and I can play together- and I love that we can play it in 15 minutes! It is a very creative board and unique idea! We love that we can each sit on the couch with the board between us while we play- the board makes it easy to play on the go! We were given it as a gift for Christmas and we are recommending it to everyone because we love it so much!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a simpler game than expected. The palindromes aren't really part of the gameplay, so much as a fun element. You're basically just battling your opponent with higher value cards. Its simple, but very fun. Simple is good for me. And the box folds out to be the game board so that's cool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super cute game! Tacocat Spelled Backwards is Tacocat is a fast-paced game with easy to follow and understand rules. I love the alternate rules for when you get bored of the regular ones. The directions were easy to follow and we got the hang of it quite quickly. The game is for 2 players and each individual game only last a few minutes. Perfect for when you need a little fun to occupy your time in a short period. My new favorite game.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The game is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, but do as the instructions say and watch the how to video if you are a visual learner. Where it says 7 and up, my 6 year old had no problem catching on and is already bugging me to play again. This is the perfect game for a rainy afternoon and I received a free sample for my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this game as a fun game for the kids to play over the summer break. It has been a blast to play. The only downside is that it is only for 2 players. We end up taking turns with who ever wins and loses rounds. It is very basic and easy that even my 6 year old got the hang of it pretty quickly. At first we ended up playing it wrong and once we got the hang of it we realized we were not playing it correctly and went back to to the rules. Once you get the basics down then you can add in advancements to make it harder. This was one really fun game that even my brother in law went and bought the game for him and his wife.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just like Exploding Kittens, this is a cute, whimsical game. First, the instructions are AMAZING! The printed instructions are broken down into an easy to understand format, but they have a link to watch a video, which was super informative and made the game easy to understand. The game itself is quick, fun and easy. I played with my 10 year old, and it was perfect for his age. I think it would make a perfect travel game; small and not too many pieces. Overall, a fun little game!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took a couple of hands and consulting the rules, but once we figured it out, it was real fun. Quick and easy to pick up and play, but once you have it figure out, there isn't much more to it to change up game play. I want to mess around and see what house rules I could come up with.
