Description
Attract and kill the ants you see and the ones you don’t with TERRO Liquid Ant Baits. The liquid, which contains borax, is specifically designed to allow worker ants to consume the product, and survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest. Ants consume the liquid ant bait and return to the nest where they pass it around to the rest of the colony. The active ingredient in the bait slowly interferes with the ants’ digestive systems, ultimately killing them.
Since this is a bait product, you will initially see more ants as they are attracted to the liquid – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. After the bait is consumed, insect populations will begin to decline. Complete control may take up to two weeks.
For your convenience, TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are easy to use and feature a new and improved snap-off tab design – no scissors needed! To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab. Then place indoors on a flat surface near ant trails and other signs of ant activity. The more bait placements, the better. Be sure to leave the ant baits undisturbed while the ants are actively feeding on it.

Q: How long are the bait traps effective?

A: More than 3 months after its open. The liquid doesn’t evaporate out of the plastic. I had an infestation in February, used two gel packs. That ended, and I placed two more in the same corner. Its June and I arrived hime from vacation, the traps were attacked.
submitted bytest - 6 months agoA: The effectiveness of the bait does not diminish over time. As long as it is still in liquid form, it can be used to eliminate the ants. While the product does not have an expiration date, we recommend replacing it if it is over two years old.

A: You need to be very careful when placing it on a rug. The new design with the twist off end is awful. Very easy for liquid to come out.

Q: How often do I need to change bait?

A: The bait station will continue working as long as there is still liquid in it. This will depend on how many ants visit.

A: This product may have a slight sweet scent. It does need to be placed on a flat surface.

If this doesn't attract them, the ants may have found another food source, be seeking a grease-based vs. sugar-based food, or be in the breeding cycle of their colony and not interested in eating. They’re literally a life saver , I have a horrible phobia for bugs especially ants and I had a horrible ant issue at my house, they were everywhere I’d constantly have to be cleaning and making sure no piece of food was left and they’d come back but once I placed several of these inside and outside my house they disappeared for months . This was last year now since it’s getting hotter they’re coming back but I’m using them again. Mind you if you want it to work properly you HAVE TO spill some first then then place the plastic next to it so they can sense it and go inside.

I don’t understand how these are ant bait when the ants do not even go into the trap. These do not work.

This advertises that the ants take this back to the colony and kills the ants you don’t see. Not true. The ants loved the bait once I set it in the middle of their line, but they all died in the trap. It stopped them for a couple weeks and then they come back. I put a new trap out and repeat and same thing happens. Over and over. They die in the trap but come back in a couple weeks. It obviously didn’t kill the colony.

We are sorry to hear this! While you may see some ants die in the bait station, the majority will take some of the bait and leave to take it back to the colony. Our bait works to kill the ants that consume it within 24-48 hours. For larger colonies it may take several weeks until you see a decrease in ant activity.

Not only did it not solve our ant problem but we can't throw the stupid things away. The box says call for disposal. Throwing in the trash or washing them down the sink can cause ground water to become contaminated. Also not safe for kids or pets. Just all around a bad deal. Go with something else so our children have a healthier earth to live on.

Cut off the tab and place this closeby to your ant path. 6 hours after I did ants were everywhere!!! 100s of them— and I badly wanted to squish every one of them. But don’t! They carry the liquid back to the nest to kill all the others. 24 hours later I have no ants. ZERO. 👍🏼

All the ants were gone within 2 days. I didn’t want to spend the money to hire an exterminator or have them spray harmful chemicals in my home around my family and pets. I’m happy I was able to find an alternative solution. I put 3 of these baits in a small paper bowls (high up enough on the counter to where our pets couldn’t reach them) so that if they spilled out, it wouldn’t make a mess. I highly suggest doing this so that the product doesn’t spill everywhere. The product is quite sticky if spilled. The first 24-48 hours we saw more ants than ever, they were all making their way to the baits and were very attracted to them. On the 3rd day, I woke up and no sign of any ants. They’re gone!!! I just saved hundreds on getting an exterminator and the hassle of having someone come into my home to spray. Would buy again if we ever have this same problem.
