I found this very, very difficult to remove. Not a fun experience. I looked up a site that shows measurements of different brands and this one has one of the shortest stems. Diva might be well marketed, but it’s not the best design.
This was my first time using this product. I like it better than tampons but I have a very heavy flow, so even with Size 2 it has to be emptied more often. I still have to use a pad with it because of that but will keep trying.
Learning curve is steep (watch a few videos online!), but once you get the hang of it, it is easy to use. Wear a liner or other protective feminine product when you are first getting use to it because you can get leaks if you are not inserting it correctly. It takes time to learn your body. It's great not having to carry around multiple pads or tampons. On heavy days you may have to empty the cup more frequently. Worth a shot to try.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product! As someone who has always had a heavy flow and issues finding a product that would suffice this has been the most efficient and liberating device! I can work, run around with the kids and have no issues. It takes some getting used to but once you do it’s amazing! I highly recommend especially to those who have sensitive skin and heavy flows.
I have worn pads for over 25 years. I tried this because I was traveling. At first, I had difficulty putting it in and taking it out, but it takes a little bit of practice (like putting in and taking out contacts for the time). I use mine for up to 12 hours during the day and use it overnight while sleeping. Best.....invention....ever!!! I will never use pads again. I never used tampons, so inserting and removing was difficult at first. But it is so worth a try! Taking it out was the hardest part for me. As long as you gently push (like having a bowel movement) when it is time to take it out, you'll find the tip and can easily remove it. This is worth every penny!! It also helps with cramps some kind of way....this cup is amazing!!!!
So, I’ll be real. This was difficult to get settled the first two times I inserted and removed to empty. Mostly this is because I’m not a contortionist. I started using this in a standing position. Soon, I learned it’s 10x easier sitting. Omg was I glad I tried that as well, per the instructions’ tips. It says it can take 2-4 cycles to really get a hang of it and, to be honest, insertion is easy. It’s the 360 degree spin that was not happening for me. I was lucky to get a 2 degree turn. Anyway, I definitely used the tips and tricks to get it settled and I’ve learned now what works for me. It’s great! I still use a panty liner, but no more bulky pads or tampons drying me out anymore. I still used nighttime pads this cycle, but I’ll get there. It can be a little messy, but I have no issues with that. As I get more used to it, I’m growing in confidence and I can easily see my reliance on pads and tampons becoming nonessential. It’s hard to beat $38/year when I’m used to $20-30 every 3 or 4 cycles to replenish my stock. Is that horrible that I have a stock? Anyway, this is worth it if you’re looking for an alternative to tampons and pads. I can’t explain well enough how awesome it is to not have to worry about changing my tampon every 4 - 5 hours on a full on day. It is liberating in a way that My body is confused. It’s like it wants me to change my tampon, but I’m not wearing one. That subconscious habit has lessened so quickly it’s insane! I’m in love with my diva cup. If you’re on the fence, trust me. Try it. What have you got to lose? Oh, just the schackles of tampons!
