submitted by Anna - 5 years ago

It is "updated" and not fun at all, it's a waste of money and not returnable.

This is an "updated" version of the game. It is very dumbed down and stupidly infuriating. There is no thought involved, the game is over in like 10 minutes. There's no stops to buy a house, there's no choices aside from deciding weather to go to college or not and it is not fun at all.

Crazy dumbed down from the classic game.

This new and updated version is insanely dumbed down. You don't need a brain to play it and therefore, has no benefit for play. Went and dug up a classic version online because I want my kids to actually learn strategy and have goals when they play a boardgame.

Not good

Very different from the original. Four of us playing made it through without any kids or getting a house. We never landed on those squares. The board is creepy looking with weird peg people and not appealing. There is also not enough 10k bills to play correctly. We ended up pretty bored by the end.

Modernization has stripped this game of most of the meat

This game is so watered down from the original and it’s awful. Every action card is the same format, no multiple retirement homes, no real interesting decision points. I’m disappointed that over the years this game has become so much less interesting and enjoyable. They try to modernize it by adding career paths like “vlogger” instead of actually making the game have interesting turning points for better and worse. The game board is also much shorter, you can probably finish this game in a good 20 minutes or less with two people.

Just… meh. Short play, some parts overly simple and other parts too complex. It’s just very different from the 90s version. Much quicker and more boring. We all made it through without even buying a house :) It seems like a poorly done and rushed update. Skip it.

I purchased this for my son for Christmas and the playing cards were in Spanish. I returned it and purchased another one and again in Spanish. Everything else was in English, how could this happen twice?

This is actually a gift for a 5 year old. This was at the top of a wish list for a 5 year old boy. I read the reviews and it sounded like the perfect game for this little boy. My grown children loved the game of Life when they were young, so it's good to see a version for younger children.
