Awesome Christmas read

5 out of 5 stars
Joy Hannabass - 11 months ago
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK The Living Christmas Tree by Kristin Sponaugle is such a cute book about a Christmas tree. The special thing about this tree is that during the day the ornaments are quiet and still, but as soon as the family is asleep, the ornaments on the tree come to life. They have fun talking to each other and playing all up and down the tree, until one night someone walked in on them. What will happen now? The Living Christmas Tree is well worth buying for your child. They are sure to enjoy this beautiful story about this unique Christmas tree. Agus Prajogo does a fabulous job creating the illustrations in this adorable book. Each page is stunning with its vibrant Christmas colors, and the characters bring the story to life before your eyes. This adorable book is a must for your child to read during the Christmas season. It would be a nice gift to any school classroom or daycare. Check out this fabulous book and gift one to the child in your life. A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. "Winner of the 2021 Family Choice Awards During the day, the Miller family's Christmas tree stands tall in their living room, sparkling with lights and ornaments. Little does the family know that their Christmas tree is anything but ordinary." My Review: Ms. Sponaugle paints a beautiful tale filled with wonder, excitement and imagination. The illustrations are bright and inviting; making it easy to get lost in the story. Following the Miller Family and their award winning Christmas Tree, I can easily see this story becoming a beloved tale for many. Hannah stumbles upon the ornaments on Christmas Eve – and much to her surprise and delight, they’re alive! They explain that they have a special kind of holiday magic, that allows them to come to life and enjoy their tree overnight while the family sleeps. Then, after they are put away in boxes for the season they hibernate until the following Christmas. When they are again lovingly placed on the new tree. Hannah runs to wake up her brother William, and together they enjoy the remainder of the season spending time with their magical new friends. While they are sad to see the end of the season, Hannah & William package the ornaments in a loving and gentle manner, knowing they’ll see them again soon. Christmas is not my favorite Holiday; it really never has been and not since the Velveteen Rabbit has the magic of the season jumped out of a story the way it does with this book. While my daughter is a teenager now and the holidays have a different feel now with less imagination and wonder – I found this book to be engaging and sweet. Full of bright colors, love, wonder and enchantment. Thanks to iReadBookTours, Mascot Books and Kristin Sponaugle for an Advanced Copy of this book in exchange for participation in this iReadBook Tour, and my honest review. #TheLivingChristmasTree #MascotBooks #ChildrensBooksOfInstagram #iReadBookTours #BookReview #Bookstagram #ChildrensAuthor #ChristmasBook #PictureBook #AllBookedUpReviews #HappyHolidays #NewClassic #GiftIdea #YoungReaders

Magic at Christmas

4 out of 5 stars
Connie Saunders - 1 year ago
Trimming the Christmas tree with lights, and finding the perfect spot for each ornament, is usually a very special part of the holiday season. This new Christmas book tells the charming story of two children who are excited to see their Christmas tree being decorated shortly after Thanksgiving. Each night Hannah and William Miller sit and view their beautiful tree, but it isn't until Christmas Eve that they discover just how special it is. Hannah climbs out of her bed to spy on Santa, but instead finds that the ornaments on the tree are alive! Author Kristin Sponaugle shares a sweet tale of magical ornaments that play, talk, and laugh the night away, and children will eagerly dive into their fantastic adventures. Colorful illustrations by Agus Prajogo and Sponaugle's use of clever names make each ornament so much fun to get to know. Who wouldn't like to see Nutmeg the Gingerbread Man and Jack the Nutcracker sliding down the garland on the tree, or the two bird ornaments, Snowflake and Holly, flying around it and chirping Christmas carols? Children will love this book and reading it with them could become a family tradition. Don't we all need a little Christmas magic in our lives? I received a copy of this book from the author via iRead Book Tours. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

The Living Christmas Tree

5 out of 5 stars
amybooksy - 1 year ago
The Living Christmas Tree is a sweet story about a charming Christmas tree that comes to life at night. I adored seeing the family spending time together decorating the tree in the beginning. It was cute to see the joy on the faces of siblings Hannah and William. I love they get to experience something special during the most magical time of the year. Especially, once the pain are able to discover what has been happening with the tree while they have been sleeping. I thought it was such a fun, entertaining and enchanting tale to read during the Christmas season. I will be looking forward to reading it again and again every year. The Living Christmas Tree is illustrated by the talented artist, Agus Prajogo. The pictures are colorful and vivid. They perfectly follow story and help bring the characters to life. They help the story flow and make it easy for younger readers stay focused on the story. The Living Christmas Tree is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who are between the ages of four and nine. It would be a great addition to add to the family’s yearly Christmas time reading. I would love to add more books by Kristin Sponaugle to add to my children’s personal library. I received a hard cover copy of The Living Christmas Tree from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
