Perfect little pan

I bought this pan because of my diet - I am cooking smaller portions, and using a larger pan was wasteful of heat and cleaning. This pan lets me fry up a single egg without chasing it all over a larger surface area. I use a non-stick spray, but even when I don't, the cooled off pan can be cleaned with minimal effort using a sponge and water, without a lot of scrubbing. It seems durable and has a nice feel, and sits flush to the surface of our ceramic range. it heats up nicely and evenly, and is perfect for making a quick snack or sandwich.

When I first received this pan, I was suspicious of how nonstick the rough interior surface could be. And sure enough, for the first few uses, this pan burned my eggs horribly to the point that the eggs seemed to have almost fused to it. No amount of soaking worked and I had to use a stiff brush to remove what was ultimately a large brown stain. I started using more oil which helped a bit and am now treating the pan like cast iron (no soap) and it's become much better. If I had one other complaint it's that the pan is too light so that it easily tips toward the handle. I've found a way to make the pan work, but it is most definitely not nonstick. Still, it is the size I needed and at a decent price.

I received The Rock 6" Fry Pan along with another as a Christmas gift this year. I was planning to purchase the set for myself, but as I am on a fixed income I was waiting for just the right time. When I saw what I had received I was so excited. Now I had the pans that would make my life so easy, cooking without hazzle, easy clean up. Wonderful. Keep the excellent Starfrit products coming. You guys are the best. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

I just purchased this 6" Starfrit ROCK fry pan this morning and used it immediately for breakfast. I prepared 2 soft poached eggs in the Starfrit ROCK fry pan, and they turned out perfect. Cleanup was extremely easy. Would definitely recommend this item to anyone looking for a smaller fry pan.
