Q: My daughter just turned 8 and loves logic puzzles. Would this be too easy for her? Should I get the regular gravity maze instead?

A: I gifted the regular gravity maze to an 8 year old. He loved it and while the easy levels were too easy, he was challenged by the hard and expert levels as were some adults.

I purchased this for my son (5) who's obsessed with marble runs, hoping it would last longer than the typical marble runs that constantly fall apart during play. He DID love it, however the concept of building based on the instructions was a little advanced for him. (Not a strike against the game. I knew it was for older kids) We still play with it, with my help, but I'd definitely recommend this for kids a little older, for independent play.

No “assembly” required to play, just open and start building the challenges. I love that this has a fun and educational aspect where one can either follow the cards or explore and create their own mazes. There’s also a variety of challenge cards from easy to hard. We found that the pieces are more durable than any other maze we’ve tried and the overall size wasn’t too big or too small either, which is a bonus for parents!

There are so many options and endless possibilities that offer him screen free time. The blocks are super easy to assemble you don’t even need any directions. Just your imagination. We received this set a month or so ago and my son still plays with it.. so this isn’t one of those things to get bored with easily.

Out of the box it looked pretty nice however once playing with it, it was kind of boring. It didn't take long for my 7 year old to lose interest, never playing with it again.

The pieces are sturdy, like my childhood marble runs. My kid nailed the easy levels fast, cheering when the ball dropped, like a soccer win. They love making their own mazes too. It’s held up after some drops, though the bits feel tiny for my hands. Still, way more fun than our old games!
