Took longer than expected to receive. Couldn’t use it due to our backyard party being over before it arrived.

Thank you for your review. TIKI Brand BiteFighter Torch Fuel provides proven mosquito repellency with most TIKI Brand torches and table torches. However, there are factors that affect repellency such as temperatures, wind, and mosquito density. We typically recommend spacing your torches 4’- 6’ feet apart and allowing the Torch Fuel to burn for up to 15 minutes for the best results. -TIKI Brand

I wish I'd read the reviews and not based my purchase on stars. this fuel gives out sooo much black smoke even with the smallest wick possible, which makes the whole experience of burning my tiki table top torches terrible and like being in a fire zone as we try to enjoy the views and "clear" atmosphere being on our deck. what a waste of $$.

We apologize for your experience and we appreciate your feedback. If you're looking for a clean burning experience, we recommend using our TIKI Brand BiteFighter Clean Burn torch fuel. It provides proven mosquito repellency and is plant-based which results in less soot and smoke. Also, please ensure your torch's wick is exposed to the correct height. For pole torches, we recommend a 3/4" wick exposure, and for tabletops, we recommend a 1/2" exposure. Likewise, you can trim your wick even shorter than recommended to create a smaller flame, resulting in less soot and smoke. We hope this helps. -TIKI Brand

Recalling the citronella candles used before I bought some tiki brand torches and this fuel to hopefully keep mosquitoes at bay. Lit these up and torch belches black smoke (which isn't a big deal, just unsightly) but smells like a 2-stroke engine burning fuel at a go-kart track, NOT like the cedar and lemon scent it is in the bottle. Not sure how black burned petrol smoke smell is meant to keep away mosquitoes but we haven't noticed a decline and won't be buying this again. Rather will just buy a 100 candles and call it a day. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to the tropical look of these.

It’s just ok. It burns really dirty and produces a tone of soot. So much so that it will cover whatever is around it when it’s burning. We will not be purchasing this again!! We have used the BiteFighter Clean Burn in the green container and it works great. We will be switching back. This product was cheaper so we tried it, but cheaper is not always better.

Thank you for your review. We always appreciate feedback from our consumers. To limit smoke, please make sure the wick is exposed to the correct height. For pole torches, we recommend a ¾ inch exposure and for tabletops a ½ inch exposure. Likewise, you can trim the wick shorter to create a smaller flame resulting in less soot and smoke. We hope this helps. -TIKI Brand

This fuel keeps torches lit for hours and keeps the bugs away while we enjoy our evenings sitting out having cocktails or just having conversation with friends and family. This feul is the only one we'll buy.

For years I was skeptical of how well this would repel mosquitoes because friends had torches that as soon as they were lit we were immediately covered in oily soot. Plus we were still bothered by mosquitoes. But I finally decided I had to try something so we could enjoy the backyard. Bought some torches and tabletops and Bitefighter. Well son of a gun it REALLY works no more mosquitoes. And no oily spot at all, which I had forgotten about until yesterday when my friend lit his torches. Turns out he has always used a different product - I thought they were all the same. I convinced him to try Bitefighter for the cleaner burn and the mosquito repellent. Hopefully he will listen, and if he doesn't he will see the difference when he comes to our place. Great stuff.
