Repositioning is recommended for all newborns; every baby is at risk for developing Flat Head Syndrome, plagiocephaly or torticollis. Because baby's skulls are soft, yet heavy and necks are weak, infants are vulnerable to developing these conditions in the first few months of life. This is why, proper movement and deliberate repositioning of your infant from birth is one of the keys to the healthy development of your baby. Tortle is a simple, comfortable beanie that is FDA cleared to help prevent and treat Flat Head Syndrome (plagiocephaly and torticollis). Early detection and correct use of Tortle will ensure the best long term results. To properly use the Tortle, you must pull the beanie down as far as possible so the crown of the head is fitted into the top of beanie and ears are covered. If beanie is covering baby's eyebrows, you can fold the front of the beanie. Remember to let your Tortle grow with your baby and purchase the next Tortle size!   Size Small fits 0-2 months, 5-10 lbs & 13-15" head circumference. Size Medium fits 2-4 months, 10-15 lbs & 15-16.5" head circumference. Size Large fits 4-6 months, 15-20 lbs & 16.5-18" head circumference.

Tortle is a simple, comfortable beanie to help prevent and treat Flat Head Syndrome (plagiocephaly and torticollis). Early detection and correct use of Tortle will ensure the best long term results.
To help prevent flat head syndrome, we recommend that all babies wear a Tortle at least 8 hours per day during their first 6 months. He/she will need a Small, Medium, and Large to keep up with their rapid growth.
To properly use the Tortle, you must pull the beanie down as far as possible so the crown of the head is fitted into the top of beanie and ears are covered. If beanie is covering baby's eyebrows, you can fold the front of the beanie.
When using the Tortle to prevent Flat Head Syndrome (plagiocephaly and torticollis), place support roll behind baby's ear to aid in the repositioning of baby's head from left to right.
Tortle repositioning beanies have an opening along the seam to add a decorative headwrap and flower to accessorize your beanie.

My son is in the 85th percentile for head circumference and the large was too loose. He also did not like it on his head. Would not recommend.

It fit perfect, based on his weight, I got a large. He was NOT happy about it but it def works. It kept him from sleeping on that side an...see moreof the reviewer's review

This helped us while my son was struggling with tortocullis and we were trying to prevent flattening of his head while he underwent physical therapy for strengthening his neck muscles. This was easy to use in his crib and in his car seat. He didn't love it, but it stayed on pretty well and did exact...see moreof the reviewer's review

My 4 month old son was definitely showing signs of a flattening head. I did a little research and came across this product on Target.com. The hat fits on my sons head easily, is soft (which is appreciated given his sensitive skin) and does what is says it does. It basically gently encourages he t...see moreof the reviewer's review
