Q: Does this camera allow a continuous feed without timing out or sleeping? I plan to use as baby monitor/ health monitor for my son that sleeps with a pulse ox hooked up while he sleeps due to seizures.

Yes, as long as both the camera and your smartphone are on the same local Wi-Fi network, and you are viewing the camera's live stream via the Kasa app. Please make sure your phone is not connected to a VPN when attempting to access continuous live view on the same Wi-Fi network as the camera, as this will cause the phone to be seen as an external connection from the LAN and prevent continuous live view.

this cammera work for about 30 days then it doesnt connect to my wifi. my wifi works perfectly and after trying and moving it closer to the wifi still nothing. i tried to contact support and still no help these things dont want to connect, im going to switch brands and not recommend these.

I purchased this to use as a baby monitor as I read on their site that continuous streaming was possible if both camera and screen were on the same wifi network. It worked wonderfully for the first few weeks and since that time will stop streaming every 15 minutes or so which defeats the purpose I bought it.

Easy to set up and use. The only issue is the sound quality when I try to speak through the camera. There's no feedback or anything, it just sounds muffled and no one can make out what I'm saying. I set it up so that it pans to certain areas of the room and turns on and off at specific times.

I originally got this to put next to our sliding door in my daughters room, but I also found out it was a great tool to use to check in on my cats while I worked. I love the app, there so many customizable options. You can insert an SD card to save the records, you can set timers to turn it on or off during certains times, and it can track faces and movement. Very handy. My sister was very jealous while visiting that I could just pull up a live feed on my phone.

My mother (in her 90s) would often not hear the phone ring, making it difficult for me to check on her at night. To get around this problem, I purchased three of these cameras. Installation was easy and the quality of the video was outstanding (including with all of the lights off). Everything worked exactly as advertised. When I had a problem with the cameras going offline, I went to the KASA website for help. I got immediate service and both times the agent was able to figure out the problem and guide me on how to fix it. This is an excellent product with great customer service.

I received a used camera in the mail. Seal broken, camera scuffed, items just shoved back in the box, used mismatched screws! Now I have to catch the bus to the next city to return. So disappointing. Horrible horrible quality control from Target.

Defective Out of the Box

Defective out of the box. Followed the step to get the camera to enter Setup Mode and it never does. The LED just blinks red over and over again, holding the reset button for 30+ seconds doesn’t do anything. Did chat support with TP-Link and they determined the device was defective. Just going to return this and try a different brand, too much hassle to risk trying the same model again.

I want to love this but...

The camera was super easy to set up and was added to the Kasa app along with my other Kasa devices. The camera works great in normal use but the picture becomes super grainy when zooming in on an object. Also, the sound quality of the speaker is very disappointing. It's very muffled and hard to understand. Are these issues normal?

I got this camera to use as a baby monitor and it has great picture in a very dark room. Unfortunately the notifications for movement and sound are not as quick as I would like but it's definitely worth the price and very easy to set up. I purchased an audio only baby monitor so I can hear if my son wakes up and not have to be staring at the camera when he is napping.

I am so happy with this camera. It is extremely easy to set up; I currently have mine sitting on a shelf but it is mountable too if you would like that option. Once the app is downloaded, you can view whatever the camera sees as well as use the 2-way voice feature. The picture is extremely clear, even at night when it uses night vision. The motion tracking feature is nice to have as well, panning to the direction of sensed movement. It does have an SD slot, but does not come with one so be sure to pick one up a card (up to 256gb) if you want to save what's filmed.
