Gordon Semmens, a native to North Dakota, grew up in the small town of Carrington. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his passion for photography and wildlife drawings. Gordie learned to enjoy the best of both worlds and developed a technique he calls fotobrush, the blending of photography and acrylic paintings. Now, each creative adventure may begin with photographing wild horses of the North Dakota Badlands, a hiking trip into the mountains of Glacier,or kayaking the Minnesota Boundary Waters. Within each journey is an image and Gordie's only hope is to bring that image home. He is represented by Applejack Art Partners.
Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.
