Very cute, well-made, but a bit confusing and gets hot

I'm a FTM and still figuring this out. My baby is only 2mos, so we've only used this a few times so far since she prefers a wrap at this point.
However, the few times I have used it, I've liked it. It's very pretty and the quality is nice. The weight is distributed nicely where it doesn't feel like it's pulling or straining too much on your shoulders. I found adjusting it to be very confusing (there are hidden snaps and such-- I imagine for aesthetics), but once it was adjusted to me, putting it on was simple. However, they do advertise that you can put this on yourself and I found it difficult to reach the upper closure and needed assistance. I'm 5'2" so maybe shorter arms influenced that, but something to be mindful of (the Ergo also has the upper closure).
My only issue with it is that it seems a bit hot for baby. When we've used it, she gets pretty sweaty, so it isn't that great for summertime use-- especially with a smaller baby where their heads are more tucked inside.
Did lots of research about baby carriers and ultimately chose this Tula Explore because of fit (I’m 5’ tall), ease of use, and forward-facing option for baby. I was pretty hesitant because of the hefty price but I finally decided to go for it.
Up until today I had been fairly pleased with the purchase- I can get it on by myself after some practice, baby sits comfortably, the print of the fabric is CUTE and there’s a pocket for my stuff.
But then today I tried the forward-facing option with baby for the first time and he LOVED it and I LOVED it! It made it completely worth the price. He got to just chill out and see everything. He was so relaxed. Way to go Tula!
This carrier would've been perfect but the materials they use smell awful. The off gasing from the foam and the fabric smell. It's so so bad. Back before they were sold to ergo I never had this issue. It's very disappointing. I'll be returning it for sure.
I got this baby carrier recently and have already used it several times with my three month old daughter. The carrier was very easy to use and figure out with adjustable straps and buttons. It also has very soft straps that make wearing it very comfortable. I also have a fabric sling and have found that this carrier is much more comfortable on my back and shoulders. Design is super cute too. Would definitely recommend this baby carrier!
