Q: How many times a day should I drink to boost my milk supply faster?

submitted by Chelsy - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Chelsy, Everyone is different. Each Packet of drink mix contains 450 mg of Fenugreek. Depending on how much Fenugreek you will need to reach your breastfeeding goals will determine how much you would take per day. We recommend varying the amount you take per day to determine what is best for you.

Q: is this to drink or eat before baby comes to produce milk or after baby comes how soon should i start to drink this?

submitted by upspring milkflow - 5 years ago
  • A: I haven't tried this product specifically, but the general consensus from lactation consultants is that there isn't much, if anything, you can do to increase milk supply before baby comes. The biggest triggers for lactation are the huge hormone shifts that happen immediately after delivery and baby's early nursing.

I waited until I finished an entire box before reviewing but this was surprisingly yummy. I mix it with a blender bottle and have it every morning. It reminds me taste wise like the carnation instant breakfast essentials. I haven’t had any issues with it not mixing well but I probably use more milk than called for. As far as it helping my supply I would say it does help. It’s not going to make you over supply by any means but I think it keeps it healthy and it gives me some energy I’m an exclusive pumper and I’ve gone from pumping 2 ounces total to about 4 total per pump session. I’m a just enougher so I think this has helped a little. Me nor my baby has had any stomach issues with it either. I’ll be buying more for sure!

Great, mix in 3oz hot water to dissolve before adding in milk

Tastes great. I have seen a lot of comments that the chocolate flavor does not dissolve in milk. It does dissolve really well if you put a little bit of hot water (3oz) and stir it up before you add the milk.

The chocolate flavor actually tasted way better than Expected. Just like chocolate milk. However you DO have to mix it in milk doesn’t work with water like the other mixes. And it just does NOT mix well at all and stays clumpy and lots of powder goes to waste. Wouldn’t buy again.

At first the aftertaste was not good. I mix it with oat milk and use a shaker bottle, haven’t had any issue with it clumping. The aftertaste goes away if you drink it every day. I definitely think it helps with my production I’ve used it for two weeks so far, one packet a day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product while I was breastfeeding and it worked great. Takes a couple days to get going but I love that it’s tasty and easy to drink. I mixed it with milk and warmed it up. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a boost in their milk supply.

This stuff was great until I opened the second box I bought of it and I was throwing up all morning. Throwing up, throwing up, throwing up- bike nasty nasty protein powdered bile and when it finally seemed like the very last it of this shake had come back up Out of my body, I felt immediate better. Aside from being exhausted from puking, being left completely dehydrated, having no energy to be able to care for my baby after I wasn’t able to care for my baby because I felt like I was dying the whole five hours immediately after I drank that shake…… obviously I got a packet of this crap that was contaminated and, sure, I thought it was working and I was producing more breast milk right up to the point where I was then more dehydrated because this crap that I purchased made me SICK AS A DOG. Probably more sick than the dog, who… happened to be puking that day too.. but he only puked twice and it was because he ate something outside. I puked maybe 50 times. It started about 15 minutes following my having inhaled a glass of this. I haven’t contacted the manufacturer and I know I need to but as a new mommy I’ve had little time.. I definitely didn’t have the time for this shake to give me the Pukes and shakes. So BR carful also, this stuff rates pretty poorly on the Yuka app

Not too bad! I think it helps? Thing is I use a hands free pump (Elvie), plus I bought a hospital grade one (spectra 2) and I think having a new pump of this caliber helps. I started drinking 2 packets of this a day at the same time I started the new pump. If anything it may have helped with time. I had a big low dip in my supply due to my own detriment, and I needed a boost with new changes and investing in a supplement was part of that plan. With a combo of other good habits if you’re committed, I think a drink like this helps but isn’t the golden ticket. The taste is really good, and I have it with milk. I do the berry one with coconut water. Both are great.

So you really have to mix it up. The chocolate is kind of hard to mix with cold milk. But it tastes really good and it really does help with my milk.

This actually worked really well for me. I am 3 days in drinking one or two packets per day and my supply went from 30 oz per day to 43! Today was my highest pump ever.

I really wanted this to work because it tastes really good but it actually made me nauseous and get a headache… I tried to for a week straight and every time I got these symptoms. Also my milk supply seemed to decrease after the first day using it. I would not recommend.

This was probably the fastest acting milk supply booster I've tried, but I felt very nauseous after drinking it. For me it wasn't worth feeling sick for a little more milk. I didn't mind the taste. I did have difficulties getting it to mix in the milk though.

I’m 7 months into my breastfeeding journey and had recently started to feel like my breasts just didn’t fill up the same as before regardless of calorie and water intake. Someone had gifted me some of this product in a little tub and I decided to throw a scoop into my smoothie and wow that evening I was full again! I kept trying just in case it was a fluke and finished the little tub, then ordered these packets hoping theyd have the same effect and they do! Worked for me

This tastes really good. I like the mild bitterness with the chocolatey flavor. Sadly, it didn't do much for the supply. I struggle with drinking milk in general and this is a good way to increase my intake of milk. I just use a protein shaker bottle to mix the drink and it mixes well.

This upset both mine and my baby’s stomach. I took this for 2 days and it gave me horrible gas, which was then passed on to my baby through breast feeding. She was very fussy, gassy and had a few blow ups in her diaper. I wouldn’t recommend this. I should have seen the bad reviews instead of only the good. To note, I am not lactose intolerant, I drink milk on the daily. I’m not sure what ingredient affected me.
