I had the salted caramel one. This is so so sweetened with stevia. It leaves a bitter, disagreable aftertaste in your mouth after you're done. I don't want to waste the purchase but this is going to be hard to drink! At least the plain pea protein powder I bought before from a different brand is drinkable, if not pleasant.
I had heard great things about this protein. I bought the salted caramel flavour and mixed it with oat-milk. It tasted yummy but the consistency was similar to many other protein shakes thick and grainy. I don't think there's much that can be done about that -but what blew this for me was the stomach pain. I've never experienced stomach cramps like these before &due to this I will never repurchase these Vega products. Unfortunate because it's like $30 I will not get back.
Both my mum and I were sick after using this in our protein shakes. It tastes great at first but then we both bloated up and felt nauseous for hours :( Although its gluten free (something that we need) it didn't mesh well with our chemistry, I will be returning it
I don't always get enough greens in my diet, this helps! I use frozen mango instead of ice (or mixed fruit), sometimes a banana, along with my Benifiber (just an added benefit), a 1/3 dropper of ginger extract, and some D3K2 (or is it D2k3). Ninja the heck out of it and I'm off to a healthy, beneficial breakfast! If I have some Tart Cherry juice, I'll add 1-2 tablespoons. I'm currently using just the tropical mix until my order comes in. I'm on stay-cation this week and I'm going to use 2/day to get back into a routine to make sure I get enough protein and greens! Just wish I could purchase the tropical with greens here!
I like to use this as a really quick grab and go snack/mini meal replacement. It mixes very well with water; I would prefer to mix it with soy milk for little more energy and nutrients, but it doesn't mix very well and gets all lumpy, I don't love chewing powdery chunks. When I have more time, I like to make a smoothie in the blender with some fruit and/or spinach and it blends nicely then. I really wish they would decrease the amount of stevia, it's overwhelming!!
I have been buying Vega One protein and greens every month for 2 years now. I start my day every morning with it. Before I used Vega One, I was trying other plant based protein powders and they tended to make me gassy throughout the day :S My current container didn't have a measuring spoon in it and I am wondering if that is being phased out or was that a packaging error. I usually stick to the same formula and keep a low sugar diet: Vanilla protein & greens, half an avocado, unsweetened coconut milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, peanut butter and ice. Simply perfect.
I put a scoop of salted carmel protein in half a cup of oatmeal in the morning with walden farms sugar free syrup, honestly the best breakfast ever!! top with some blueberries and you'll be craving it every morning. Great stuff, excellent product!
