A: No. This is simpler than an ultrasound humidifier: the water tank fills a basin, the filled basin makes the filter wet, and a fan blows air part the filter, and this is how the moisture gets into the air. As a result the filter must also be periodically inverted (to undo the perniciously subtle constant pull of gravity) and discarded if it dries out too fast (because the filter can only draw up the water through the forces of “capillary action” and if it gets dry the capillaries close up).
