Vicks Humidity Monitor - image 1 of 2

About this item

Highlights

  • Using a humidifier to maintain indoor humidity levels between 40-60% can reduce the survival of flu viruses on the surface and in the air
  • Helps keep throat and nasal passages hydrated: Helps you breath and sleep more comfortably
  • Helps provide temporarily relief of dry air discomfort
  • Helps protect furniture
As cold temperatures set in, humidity levels drop. Cold air is unable to hold as much moisture as warm air. Because of this, when we heat our home the relative humidity level can drop as low as 10%. This is drier than the Sahara Desert and can contribute to drier skin, as well as nose and throat discomfort. It can also cause static electricity, and plants and furniture to dry it. Some people experience discomfort when humidity levels are lower than 25%. A comfortable humidity should be between 40-60%.

This item works great, it's just as it appears and is described online. No complaints. If I were designing it, I would add a clock feature.

I like the fact that I can now measure the humidity in my bedroom. I bought a humidifier and realized I needed this handy thing to use my humidifier as needed. I could not find this in any other store. At first I was skeptical if it was going to work. It seemed too easy. But whenever I take a shower...see moreof the reviewer's review

It is usually 5 degrees colder upstairs and some rooms are better insulated than others. I like that I can make sure my baby's room is a good temp and humidity level. I use this dai...see moreof the reviewer's review

I purchased two of these monitors based on the excellent reviews. I placed them side by side in different locations to see if they had the same readings, and they always showed different humidity levels of 5 to 6 points. The temperature was the same on both monitors. I called the number on the back ...see moreof the reviewer's review
