Description

The Vornado Ultrasonic Humidifier distributes moisture farther into the room, enabling faster humidification. Vornado’s Vortex Action channels mist into a powerful beam of air and evenly distributes the humidity throughout the living area. Other systems are only designed to push mist out of the unit, with no mechanism to deliver the humidity throughout the living space - the mist simply falls, leaving the floor damp. Delivers cool or warm mist and has user defined settings that allow you to choose your desired humidity level and fan setting. The humidistat provides automatic humidity control and the large 2 gallon capacity makes for less refills. Provides coverage up to 900 sq. ft. 5 year limited warranty.

Second one we are buying as first one has lasted for 12 yrs but now runs with no control over humidity level. That part of electronics has gone out. So we will use it for the extremely cold dry winter days when it is ok to run constantly in addition to the new one. Didn't expect to get 11 yrs of good work from any humidifer, just cleaned it with Lime Away before storing it for the summer. Always put in 2 capfuls of vaporisor/ultrasonic humidifier fluid and never has any issues with white dust ever. Best ever humidifier we have bought, had belt types before

I am 71 years old, have asthma and the wife claims I snore. I read that increasing humidity in a room helps both. I bought two different brands and the water vapor hit the floor and really never got above 30%. This unit is unique. Someone figured that if you put a fan behind the back of the unit to blow the water vapor into the room, then it doesn't hit the floor. I have had up to 42 % humidity so far. White Powder, well it isn't the fault of the machine. Use the filter and it gets most of the minerals that is in the water from drying on surfaces. Fortunately our water is softened at the water plant, which is a big plus. Suggest use the filter, replace monthly if white powder is a problem vs. the humidity. The water tank is a pain in the tush. 2 gallons of water is heavy, and I think, gee I am 71, this is heavy. today setting the tank down into the base i pinched my finger and it smarts. Perhaps the engineers could go with something, like have the filter at the bottom as it is now, but have the top fillable. If I could pour water into the top of the unit, it would be wonderful and easy. the only time i would need to access the bottom was to replace the filter and /or clean the base as recommended. (Hey engineers, top fill, get er done.) Over all it is a beauty. yeah, the fan is a bit on the noisy side and the humidity indicator picks up the humidity around the unit. I have a stand alone humidity measure and have ti coordinated to figure what I need to set the unit to match the room humidity. Nice unit, just modify that tank. Especially modify it so that present owners just replace the tank with the new design and not the unit

Nice unit, holds water for 24 hours B4 refill

The water filter to me is a waste - not needed, nor do I use it. I clean the unit with Lime-a-way, which dissolves ALL minerals left over from use. Future water bottles should have an opening for refilling at the TOP, while the bottle is still sitting in the machine - because with two heavy gallons of water, having to flip it over, then line it up, and start the unit up is a hassel. Talk to your design & engineering dept and tell them to use some common sense next time. Other than that, I like it.
