Wet Sounds ZERO Series 8 XY-W 8" marine coaxial speakers extend the ZERO Series concept to a larger format, providing a high-output option for boats that can accommodate an 8" speaker but still need a shallow-mount design. ZERO Series XY 8" coaxials use a Nylas™ composite frame, a blend of nylon and fiberglass, for improved stability and strength compared to conventional materials. A rigid PMGS composite cone, TPR surround suspension system, and reinforced Nomex aramid spider are specified to support performance in demanding marine environments. A horn-loaded 1" titanium dome tweeter and oversized neodymium motor are used to deliver high-output sound, with a rated frequency response of 55Hz–20kHz, 91.5dB sensitivity, and 150W RMS / 300W peak power handling at 4 ohms. Each pair includes gloss white aluminum XY yacht grilles with a twist-lock design that hides mounting hardware. The speakers can be installed with or without the grille, making them suitable for both custom and OEM replacement applications. The powder-coat finish on the grille is intended to help resist corrosion in the harsh marine environment.
