Does the job. Wide rule and durable cover is good for elementary students. The cost is much lower than office supply stores. The deduction of 1 star is only due to delivery. My order of 24 in various colors has been sent in about 4 shipments so far plus several cancelled items, sometimes only 1 composition book in a large box. Seems like a waste of shipping materials & time.

Ordered two. One book wasn’t even fully assembled - the stitching wasn’t complete so the pages were detached from the spine and several pages were just loose. Had to reorder and went with the Mead brand. I guess I got what I paid for in ordering Up and Up.

The description says hard cover, but the ones I received have soft covers. The covers are made of paper and are very flimsy.

Disappointed that I splurged and spent the extra 19 cents for these "hard" covers. They are more flimsy than the marble covered composition books that sell for 50 cents. I purchased 70 of these for my classroom, and they were shipped in a single box with no other packing materials. Several were bent. The cardboard box busted open when I lugged it inside. It is going to be hassle to return these to the store.

I bought several of these in every color just to have on hand. I know every year of my children's elementary school career composition notebooks are guaranteed to be on the back to school shopping list. I prefer these hardcover notebooks over the vinyl cover composition books. They last long and are sturdy.
