Q: Is it hard to press handle to get dough out?

submitted by spritz lover - 11 months ago
  • A: Hi! Our Wilton Preferred Press is designed with a soft-grip trigger, which makes for an easy process when pressing out dozens of cookies quickly.

  • A: No it is not hard to press. There is a ratchet mechanism in the handle that forces the dough down. And, it is not hard to refill. I just ordered a new one after having the same one for 15 years. I broke my old one. My family loves spritz cookies.

Q: If no batteries how does it work--spritz cookie dough is thick

submitted by spritz lover - 11 months ago
  • A: Our Preferred Press is a manual press that does not require batteries. Simply push down the dough using the plunger, then use the handle to press out the dough onto your cookie sheet.

Defective or bad design

I had to return it because it was defective. The threading of the tube (plastic part) and the metal ring/disc holder would not screw together properly. The threads did not match up and screwed on at an angle. Unfortunately, this was clearly a defect and not conducive to using as a cookie press. I was not able to exchange for another because they were sold out in stores & online.

Bought this to make cheese straws , but does not have a disc that really works for thin crisp straws. Probably works fine for cookies If anyone has successfully used this press to make cheese straws, I would appreciate feedback

Works very well. Like a lot better than the power operated one I had, one ran by electric and the other by battery. The new one is great

I used the spritz cookie recipe my family has made for 100 years. Even using both hands I could not squeeze hard enough to get a cookie out. Poor mechanical design.

Plastic pusher cracked the first time I used it, and broke completely upon second use. I let the dough come to room temperature before attempting to use the press. This is the third Wilton cookie press I've bought over the years, because every single one has a different design flaw. The previous model was superior but had plastic discs which were prone to breaking. Of course the model changes each time just enough that the current metal discs won't fit in a previous model. Wilton usually makes excellent products but this one is a failure, and I'll be buying a different cookie press now.
