Terrible. Widow glass damaged with permanent film.

Used for outdoor house windows. I followed directions but it appears 15 seconds of rinse did not rinse them clean enough Thus I have a permanent film on my windows with some heavier streaks. I believe the damage is permanent. I have tried to rectify the film and spot damage to no avail. Help! I would like some resolution to remove this damage and have found none. Unless I can salvage my glass, I will never use it again.

Use this stuff to clean 11 windows this morning in my mid-Michigan. Temp was 65 degrees and followed all directions as instructed and it worked amazingly well. We do have city water not a private well and we did have the windows replaced in early April this year and they all ended up drying very clean and clear. The only leakage I experienced was the fact I forgot to remove the yellow plug at first but had great results and will definitely purchase again
Won't buy this again!

Thought this was just the answer to washing windows on a two-story home. The only issue is that the container leaks! Yes, I DID make sure the garden hose was properly and securely attached! Still the container leaked so much that the entire contents were used on only two windows! IMHO, a waste of money! So disappointed frankly as I've been a regular client of the regular Windex used inside the home.

This worked only slightly better than just spraying water at the window. It removed only some of the dirt and did not dry evenly--and this is in a place with extremely soft water. I'll have to go back and clean the windows the old-fashioned way with a squeegee and a bucket of soapy water.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Nick! We're sorry our Windex® Outdoor Sprayer didn't make your windows sparkle. For best results, make sure you completely rinse suds before repeating an application. Be sure to not allow the product to dry before rinsing, rinse windows from top to bottom and use when the temperature is above 55 degrees F. We stand behind our products and would love the chance to make this right. Please give us a call at 1-800-558-5252 (M-F 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CT) and provide reference number 22503467. Hope to hear from you soon! - Mindi, SC Johnson Consumer Care

What ever new formula they use, is not working well. It left spots and streaks. Also, the spray nozzle did not work. All settings delivered soap. Also, in past years one bottle did upstairs & downstairs windows. This time one bottle barely did first floor windows.

I love this product. It cut down the time I spent cleaning windows by 80%. I can get all of my picture windows done without much effort at all and my second floor windows too. Follow the directions and they are crystal clean. After the wash spray I use the extension pole and pad with a little spray of windex on the pad then rinse. Please don't ever stop making this!
Awful.

I used as directed on a second floor window that is now 10x dirtier than it was before I started. This product left a cloudy, streaky film all over the window. What a waste of money!

Windows just as dirty as they were to start. Didn't do any damage or leave steaks or spots or anything, just didn't clean. If I was able to use a squeegee to scrub, then I wouldn't need this product.

Not as good as the pole and pad style they stopped making

I am a long time fan of the old pad and pole cleaner. I found out they stopped making them including the pads which they could have and should have continued making when I went to buy a new stack of pads a while back. In any case I really liked the product and decided I give the replacement a try. It works pretty much the same as the old product, but is faster because all you are doing is getting the window wet, spraying cleaner, waiting and rinsing. No brushing/scrubbing. The brushing/scrubbing is pretty important to remove all schmutz from your windows. If you have effectively clean windows this product is great for making them look super clean. If there is anything that requires any real elbow grease you'll have to hand clean first. This is where the old brush product out performs the replacement. If your windows are like mine you'll find yourself wishing they had continued making the old pad and pole product. I selected I would recommend it to a friend, but with a big fat asterisk. It works great on windows that have dirt that can be rinsed off with no real scrubbing. If your windows are pretty clean and your looking for a product that is pretty quick and easy to use this is it. For me it is good as mid summer touch up product. Spring cleaning not so much.
Product is fine but there is a catch.

It is a fine product but keep in mind that your are using tap water for the rinse. You will get water spots even if you have moderately hard water. That us unless you use demineralized water or use a squeegee / micro fiber to dry off the window. Also a lot of times there is dirt in the window sill, it can slash up with the water stream. The more time between cleanings the worse this will be. If you hire a window cleaner they are going to charge 8 to 10 unit and larger windows are 2 units. So you can see the cost savings here if you are willing to put in the effort to remove the screens and do this like every month or every other month. The reason for the increased frequency is to keep the amount of dirt your trying to spray off is less and the results will be better in the long haul.

My windows were not too dirty, so my wife suggested I try this product. I used the product per instructions at the glass now looks horrible. So the next day I tried the product again on the glass and no improvement. This product should be labeled as a Glass "Dirtier"... not a Glass "Cleaner"

I purchased two bottles of the outdoor spray. I used it exactly as directed. It does not work. It states that if the product doesn't work, use a squeegee or wipe the windows and that will help. If I had a 20 foot pole with a squeegee at the end or a very tall ladder, I wouldn't need to use a product like this. The reason I used this is because the windows are too high to reach. The water pressure I used was excellent and that's definitely not the issue. I'm extremely disappointed.

The "Clean" position spray came out just like the "Rinse" spray, I had NO SUDS at all. For the price you pay for a bottle of this it should have suds when it is suppose to! Waste of my money and time spent trying it.

Damaged Front Door, Streaked All Windows

I am so upset I used Windex Outdoor on my house! I read all the precautions and directions on the bottle and online because I was concerned about our cedar siding. I followed the directions to a T. Windex Outdoor absolutely destroyed the finish of our front door and left ALL our windows streaked and spotted, worse than before use. Now I am going to have to hire a professional window cleaner and have my front door sanded and stained. I am reaching out to S.C. Johnson about this. Reconsider using Windex Outdoor on your house. The pictures speak volumes. What a mess!
