Young, white men have dominated action sports for many years, yet women have refused to accept positions on the margins of these unique sporting cultures. About the Author

Holly Thorpe and Rebecca Olive work in Te Oranga School of Human Development and Movement Studies at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. Both have published widely on topics including sociology of sport, cultural studies, feminist theory and methodologies, youth culture, gender and action sports.
