I love these pants. Here is my take. I originally purchased the white (cream) ones. They are def an off white/cream color. I originally purchased a size 12. Wore them around for half a day and they stretched out CONSIDERABLY. So I sized down to a 10 and those stretched out quite well as well. I ended up sizing down to the 8. It is a little tight on waist but I can manage.
I also ended up trying on the blue ones. They are a different material than the white ones, but still very nice. I tried on an 8 in those and they would not even zip up. I ended up getting them in a 10 and they fit perfect. I am hoping the blue ones don't stretch out as much as the white ones did.
Okay so first thing first, if you lived through the 80/90's the first time once you touch these paper bag jeans all the memories will start rushing back. The fabric is very heavy just like jeans were back in the day when we had to break them in, but don't worry the touch of spandex makes for an easy wear. In fact, I first ordered a size 12 and needed to size down to a 10. My only change would be to have the belt a little longer so I could play with the tie.
First the good stuff: These pants look and feel way more expensive than they are. The fabric is substantial, but I wish they were 100% cotton instead of having some spandex. The color is as pictured - a nice off white, and the length is perfect even on my short legs (hits at the ankle). Now the "bad" stuff: They seem to run big and the fabric stretches. I got a size 16 , though WWW sizing is never consistent (sometimes I can wear regular sizes, sometimes I have to get plus). At first, they were super tight in the waist. I had to suck it in a lot to button them. I'm wearing them for the first time today and by the time I got to work (a 1 hour drive), they had stretched so much in both the waist and the hips that the waist is now very loose and I look like I'm wearing a saggy diaper. Clearly, I need a size 14. I'm hoping that by washing and drying in hot temperatures they will shrink a little, but I'm super disappointed because I really really like them. I'd definitely say they are a buy, but you should size down 1-2 sizes.
I think the quality seems pretty good for the price -- it's true, the fabric is rather thick and a bit stiff, but I think it needs to be that way for the pants to have the structure and shape they are supposed to have. They are kind of like a subtle jodhpur -- cinched at the waist, but then pleated, and the stiffer fabric helps the pants hang away from the body in the hips to give you an hourglass shape. I do think the pic makes the pants look much more white than they really are -- in person, they are a true cream color.
