I just got these pants/jeans today, and feel like I need to give kudos to A New Day for the quality of the garment. First of all, there are genuine, useful pockets (front and back), not those 3-inch deep pockets you see on most jeans these days (I'm talking to you, L***'s). If you like the feel of having your hands inside deep pockets, you'll get that feeling with these pants.
Secondly, the denim is a nice weight. It's not skimpy, it's not thin, it's not overly stretchy (but it does stretch). It's a quality fabric and these pants/jeans have a heft to them, due partly to the weight of the fabric and partly to the amount of the fabric used (wide legs/paperbag waist). Anybody who sews knows the more fabric used, the more "design ease," the more luxurious the garment, because it requires more fabric; thus, more cost. These are high waisted, and there is elastic at intervals to keep the integrity of the paperbag look. The belt is quite long, allowing you to tie it in a knot or a half bow (if you know what I mean) ... plenty or room to work with. I found the sizing to be generous. The front pockets are quarter-top pockets, meaning they're slightly slanted inward at the top, like a trouser pocket. They're not on-seam pockets, which I've yet to see flatter anybody, regardless of how slim or not they may be. The hem of these pants is deep, looks like about two inches, although I didn't measure it. The hem is blind stitched, so you don't see the stitching on the right side of the garment. As for the length, I'm 5'7" and these are longer on me than on the model, but not full length. They give a refreshing boost to the wardrobe ... will really look good with cropped or tied tops.
