The Women's Plus Size Power Shape Max Underwire Sports Bra from C9 Champion® features motion control cups and underwire for maximum support. Support and comfort are key to an enjoyable sports bra wearing experience. This bra is designed to provide maximum support for Running, Bootcamp, Tennis and High Intensity Interval Training. If you prefer a less snug fit, consider sizing up.
I wear a solid 44DD. Ordered that size in this bra, but the cups were a whole size or two bigger than that. Also, it was ugly and looked like a bra from the fifties. Think: cone boobs. The band was firm but true to size, so if you're buying this as a runner or gym enthusiast, try sizing down in the cup and it should be good, as far as quality and performance goes. I ordered this for everyday wear to work, so the cone shape is not something I could look past. Will be returning.
I normally wear a size 38G in Soma bras. I originally purchased a 44D and the cups and band were too big. I went down to a 40D and it fits much better. I like a snug band, and the cups fit nicely. I like the adjustable straps for wearing under different workout tops. No uniboob issue and the underwire is hardly noticeable. There is no pinching or poking, which lets me focus on my workout.
I love that this bra has excellent support (even while running), while still giving me shape! The wider band also helps to smooth out the area under my arms and the dreaded ‘back fat’ area too, better than any bras I wear with everyday clothes. I tend to go back and forth between women’s and plus sizing; I normally wear a 38DD, but was able to size up to a 40D. Target, please consider extending this bra to women’s sizing too... there are plenty of curvy girls who are not quite plus-sized who would love this fuller-coverage style with an underwire!
I typically wear a 38DD. As with most sports bras, I know that the band sizes tend to be tighter than regular bras. Plus other reviewers mentioned to size up with the band, so I ordered a 40DD, 40D and 42D. I could barely get the 40's on, and the 42D cup size was more like a DD but bigger. I have a 42C that should be here in the next day or two and I'm crossing fingers. I'd also like to mention that this bra has some significant padding. Some might like that to hide "cold day issues", but for me it brought my chest that much closer to my chin.
