I recently went to London and knew that I would need a good coat. It was going to be in the 30's and 40's with a high wind-chill. I popped into Target 2 days before my trip and found this coat. I love the length, most puffer coats are short and stop at the waist which looks strange on my body type. This coat was the real MVP of my trip. Perfect for layering or wearing as is, doesn't make you look too puffy, keeps me insanely warm, and doubles as a blanket/pillow on the flight over! I cannot rave about this coat any more than I already have, plus it's a steal for the price. I'm going to get so much use out of it in Seattle! For reference, I'm 5'8" and wearing a size medium!
Looked forever for the perfect long coat and this is it. I’m 5’4” and the size Small hits right above my knees. Roomy enough to wear layers underneath. Warm enough to walk the dog, soft enough you could curl up and nap on it if you’re stuck in an airport overnight, and cheap enough you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. It has pockets that actually hold things and snaps just in case the zipper someday breaks, a hood with a drawstring, and side vents that help it fit perfectly. I love the fact that everything is matte black (the zipper, the snaps, the drawstring for the hood) and I love the deep green. It’s a versatile color — dressier than an olive green, but still plays well with jeans or anything black.
I bought the green version of this coat. The color is beautiful and unique, especially for a puffer. I tried it on and obsessed over it for a few days before going back to get it. Now I wish I had zipped the coat up before buying it. When worn open, it looks cool, relaxed and purposely oversized. Zipped up, I'm wearing a sleeping bag. A beautiful sleeping bag, but an unflattering sleeping bag. The problem with this coat is the design. I live in Chicago and have my fair share of puffer coats. Most long ones will have a separate placket inside the front opening for the zipper section. Then the main part of the coat has buttons that cover the zipper. This creates a closer fit that keeps you warmer and gives a more fitted look/waist (as fitted as a puffer coat can be, anyway). This A New Day coat does not have that. The zipper is part of the main opening. It's such a small thing but makes a huge difference looks-wise.
I can't say enough good things about this coat. I don't think I've ever written a review before but I know I need to for this one. I got it in black but the green color was beautiful as well. It is so warm and so spacious, you can wear a sweater under it. It is long so it cover everything you need it too. The buttons on the sides are great because it helps make it a but more comfy when sitting to drive. I can't believe it was only $60. I would buy this again in a heart beat. I feel so warm and cozy in it. Side note it kind of makes me feel like an actor on set when they give them those big black coats in between takes.
I have been looking for a nice stadium coat for a couple years, but living in Az, they’re hard to come by. Then on a visit out of state, I found this wonderful coat. It’s perfect. Very classy without that weird gets-wider-at-the-bottom thing a lot of puffer jackets have (like a flair at the bottom part). It hangs perfect and straight. I bought my regular size large and it’s roomy enough for a sweater underneath. Beautiful coat!
Sturdy yet comfortable winter coat. Love the pockets that can be used as storage from the top and for your hands from the side. The side snaps are great for sitting. The collar and hood give full coverage from the weather. The green is a really nice dark color change that dresses up the coat. It appears true to size if you buy a size larger than normal in order to layer underneath. That worked for me.
I am about the same height as the Target model (5’9 1/2), a little under 150 pounds and got this coat in a size Large. Plenty of space to wear a bulky sweater underneath with roomy sleeves for ease of movement. I doubt this coat is waterproof, but it feels warm and cozy. I love the deep green color (a nice change from the standard black).
