It's a flattering dress! I ordered a XXL, since that was the last option available at the time. Thankfully it works out. I would have given it 5 stars if it didn't have so many loose threads for me to cut. Otherwise, it seems to be well made. I am 5'6 and it hits me above the ankles, slightly below mid-shin, so it's relatively long. It will likely need a slip as well, but it's still a decent option for summer in my opinion, and I live near the gulf. I typically wear 1X or 2X, so I would agree that this is a bit oversized since this dress fits without being snug. I will need to add a pin or something inside the dress to close the small gap that my chest is causing, since I am larger chested, but it isn't a big enough issue to consider returning it. I can still bend my arms forward without it feeling tight. I thought the sleeves would be an issue, but they fit my arms well. So if you happen to come across this dress, definitely consider ordering down 1 size than what you typically order if you are in the plus sizes! Also, I find the wasitline to be flattering on my body shape. I find it to be similar to any other empire waist dress. I think chest size plays a part in where the waist may fall on you, so keep that in mind while reading the reviews.

Gorgeous dress. Runs slightly bigger, but if you are top heavy, size up. I'm a true L/XL in Target women's clothing and I got an XL. Not too tight and not too big. Perfect.

Cute but runs large. I’m usually in between a small and a medium and went with a medium. Unfortunately it’s way too large in the waist so will be returning. Bummed the small is out of stock.

Was not loving the ribbon detail online, but in person, this dress is super cute. Depends on the length of your legs, but this hits midi on me and I'm 5'5. Love this twist on a classic print/shirtdress. Elastic waist on a button down and pockets is a double win.

I didn’t think I would like it, but it is really cute. No you can’t wear dark underwear (well you can if you roll like that), but a slip or nude undergarments will work just fine. It is not too see through, I wore a nude bra and it was invisible. The length is not too long, I am 5’8 though and it hit mid calf. Sizing is more like target sizes, than Kate Spade. I usually wear a XL in Kate Spade and a Large in Target. Some of these pieces I could size down to a medium, but I was a solid large in this. It fit perfect and had enough room up top, which is hard for buttoning up a larger bust. Would recommend and plan on wearing it a lot.

I really like the fit of this dress. The scrunched waist is a bit higher than I had envisioned but it hits just right on my short torso. The material is not see through like some of the other comments have said. It is sturdy and I think will retain its shape well. Thst being said, it is clearly a Target dress inspired by Kate Spade. There was a noticeable snag(?) on the bust. It is a flaw within the fabric which could be hidden by a cute pin, but that isn't my style. There are so many loose threads but were easily trimmed. I am going to return the flawed dress because I was able to find another one in small. The waist measured 14.5" across on one and 14.75" across on the other, so depending on how true to size you are, it may fit perfectly or have a bit of room. Unfortunately it's the one without the snag that ran a little bigger, but it is still flattering.

This dress is fabulous on but I did have to size down. I am a true medium and the small was perfect.

I was so happy to be able snag this when they were released. I'm usually a large, especially with a dress in this style, but my goodness- right out of the box, I could tell the waist was massive- could easily be an xl or 1x. I have a 32" waist and I think a small would fit me. I'm so disappointed because exchanging it for a smaller size just isnt an option- given they're sold out everywhere. Don't know if I want to attempt to take the waist in- scared it will throw the top off.

Other reviews are surprising to me bc I thought it ran small. I have an average sized chest and it was too tight there and also the waist button near the elastic was snug. If the chest was ok I could have been ok with the waist. Cute dress tho, if I can find a size up I would try

I was so excited when I saw that a Kate Spade collab would be available. I bought nearly every clothing item but sadly, I will be returning all but a hat. I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant and as big as a house. According to the size chart, I would be a size XXL or 1X in everything. I ended up buying everything smaller (size large or XL) so I could wear after pregnancy. Even the size large in everything was still HUGE on me everywhere. I could have easily sized down to a medium or a small I'm not only this dress, but in all of the clothing.

Very long, and oversized in a way that it hangs in a way that's not flattering. Sizing down might help if they have it in stock, but I'm an 8 and it felt like I was wearing a sack in the medium.

Beautiful dress and great quality! Does run big, I recommend sizing down. I’m usually a large and the medium fit well, just a bit long.
