I had similar issues of a few small dings and marks, the paint is a little thick and has some residue, but am keeping it because of the design, size and price. My experience: putting it together was not that difficult and once I had it together it looks good in my small dining room.
The cart is aesthetically pleasing, but is of poor quality upon close inspection. Although it has wheels, it seems that it is not really meant to be moved around much. When constructing the cart, I noticed that some of the pieces were warped and had to be forced together but I was able to make it work. Otherwise it will serve its purpose, but price wise, I think its a bit too high for the quality.
It's cute I guess. However when I finished putting it together, the top shelf was completely off compared to the bottom shelf. They didn't line up straight and it looked like the supporting arms were jetting out at 30 degrees each way. It doesn't roll very smoothly. I will say it felt sturdier than I expected after looking at it. There was sticky stuff down the brass on the top shelf.
This piece looks great, but it arrived broken. One of the wheels would not screw into the bottom, so the cart is just resting on top. This renders it pretty impossible to roll around. We're keeping it because the flaw was discovered after I'd already screwed in three of the four wheels. It was too big to disassemble and send back, so we'll use it broken.
Overall a great bar cart for the price. Beautiful design but can be tricky to assemble. PROS + Great design and look + Low Price CONS - Challenging assembly: some of the rods were not perfectly straight, and had to be "encouraged" to fit in straight - The wood grain pattern can vary greatly. The top and bottom shelves may differ a lot. Our bottom shelf had a lot of different wood grain patterns and colors, so it didn't look as clean as the pictures
