The lid on this fellow is a little heavy, so don’t expect very small kids to be able to manage it by themselves. But overall, seems sturdy and a nice storage spot. The top isn’t smooth enough to rest delicate glasses on, but something like a big coffee mug or a mason jar works.

These are PERFECT! This is exactly what I was looking for for our space. The storage area inside is very large. We are able to fit 3-4 oversized throw blankets folded up inside. It makes our space look less cluttered. I'm also amazed at how sturdy they are to sit on. The material they are made from is a bit shiny compared to the stock photo, but I personally like the look now that I'm used to it. The lid stays on very well, and has a metal mechanism that fits inside the basket to hold it in place. The lid does not slide off, which is a plus. The price point is also great, especially when you compare to other stores that offer a similar product. Thank you Target for continuing to make stylish and affordable accents for my home.
