Hi there, we're sorry that there are issues with your Xbox wireless controller. Since this controller should've been sold brand new, we recommend returning it for an exchange at Target. We hope this helps! --Chuck, Xbox Customer Care

Hi Marty, we're sorry that you're experiencing an issue with your new Xbox wireless controller. While it sounds like your controller is outside the 90-day manufacturer's warranty period, we recommend troubleshooting the issue with Xbox Support to see if there's anything they can do: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/controllers/wireless-controller-solution --Chuck, Xbox Customer Care
Bought two of these in November to replace two black ones. Now in April they can't connect the headset to the console displaying "no headset" Tried all the recommended fixes given on Xbox website, nothing works. These aren't cheap and I can't keep replacing them every few months. The quality of Microsoft products is so bad that I can't recommend these to anyone. Wish I had bought the extended warranty. Don't buy these!
I love the option to have different color options for my Xbox controllers. Xbox now has a login feature where you can assign an account login to a controller (passwords are still required if set) upon activating the controller. My boyfriend has a different color controller and we each know instantly who's is who's. The controller can be upgraded with charging stations for ease of use but comes with two AA batteries. Additionally, this model features a 3.5mm jack for headphones. I recommend running the controller firmware update with your headset of choice plugged in to the controller to ensure headset compatibility. The plastic feels lighter and is different than the older model. The plastic molding includes a textured grip that is not aggressive but functional. The thumb-sticks are upgraded on this model as well with a better indent and grip.
