This is the second piece of Target furniture that I purchased recently and like the first one, although I am generally pleased with how the finished product looks, I have several issues with the assembly and the quality of the finished product. Pros: sturdy material, holds a lot, attractive designCons: part of the piece was broken when I received it - need to glue it back together, one of the holes didn't line up properly when attaching the large shelf at the bottom and so I could not, despite my best efforts, attach that side with a screw - therefore the bottom shelf is only being supported by three screws, the cheap Styrofoam in the packaging was flaky and broken apart and got everywhere as I was taking the pieces out of the package, some of the assembly I found difficult to put together by myself and I often found the instructions to be vague and unclear - I used the pictures and common sense to get the thing togetherOverall it is a nice piece but I don't think it was worth the money.
When I opened the package, two of the pieces were so dirty, they were nearly black. It took me quite a while to get them scrubbed. They were still a little grey by the time I finally gave up trying to get them white. Next I started to assemble the rack and I hit a glitch. One of the screws would not screw-in due to metal filiment in one of the holes. After over twenty minutes of scaping I was (thankfully) able to clear out the hole enough to continue to screw in the bolt. The rack was nice and study once I finally got it cleaned and assembled, but after already reciving one other damaged rack, I really was hoping this one would be in better condition.
