The front rod projects 5.14 inches while the back rod projects 2.80 inches from the wall. A 1 inch diameter double curtain rod is recommended for use on larger windows in larger rooms, such as your dining room, bedroom or living room, to layer sheers and heavyweight, thermal, or room darkening curtains. Layering curtains gives you more control over how much light to let into your room throughout the day and provides more insulation during colder months.
