After searching for a portable laptop desk for quite sometime, I found this one and it looked to be very promising. I have a real desk at home that I use but was in real need of a portable desk. I love the fact that it folds up nicely and will fit in my laptop bag with my laptop as well!! The height is completely adjustable and the tilting part is ajustable as well. The mouse pad area is really nice because I'm not a big fan of touchpads on laptops and use a wireless mouse instead. Not many laptop desks have an area for a mouse to be used, so this feature is great. The fan is powered by simply plugging in the USB cord to your laptop, which is soooo much better than a battery operated one. It's very sturdy and everything locks into place so it won't break during travel. When the whole thing is folded up, the entire desk itself locks so it won't open up unless you press the release button. My laptop is 15.4 inches and fits just fine when fully opened and I still have plenty of room for my mouse. You don't have to use the legs on the desk unless you want/need to. I absolutely LOVE this desk. I've even used it at home from time to time. All my friends are jealous of how awesome this product is. I'm rating this a 4 because of one thing. The tilt feature dosen't work very well. Maybe my laptop is too heavy or something, but my laptop keeps sliding off. It doesn't really bother me because I don't need that feature so much. The price may seem a bit high for an item such as this one...but I feel it was money well spent.
I looked at a lot of desks before I chose this one. I had some help putting it together but it was pretty straight forward. The top drawer on the right side is kind of an awkward size - too small for files but kind of big for pens etc.
Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

Overly Complicated Assembly & Poor Quality for Price
For particle board you-build-it furniture, you naturally have to lower your expectations, but this desk is pretty bad esp compared to a certain other pack-flat retailer.
The assembly is very very complex, and needlessly so. If you're the sort of person who just can't handle the tedious process of carefully separating out every type of screw, connector, pin and piece of wood (some labelled/some not) before starting, then don't buy this (I build things for a living & I thought it was annoyingly bad). Even so, the written directions are atrociously unhelpful and the diagrams are laughably poor. Pretty obvious they cut corners in assembly design & instead of streamlining the build they just dumped the mess onto the consumer. Assembly took me about 5 hours (not including making the replacement drawer parts and using my own hardware to make up for the ones they didn't manage to send me). You will need two types of screwdrivers, glue (they provide a small amount) and a hammer to build this according to the directions (IF everything goes right).
Quality is bad, this desk arrived with particle board sections pulverized into crumbs and missing connector parts- rather than wait days for replacements I just took my saw & made better pieces from pine scraps and used my own brackets to replace ones they failed to ship. Like I should have done for the whole thing instead of buying this thing.
It does look pretty nice- when it's new. But the prob with this grade of particle board is that it wears really bad, weighs a ton, & crumbles very easily under stress. So you're not going to move this desk anywhere except to the curb. Keep that in mind if you're getting it for an apartment or school.
But $[...] for this quality? I'm in the wrong business I guess.
1) It took about 6 hours to put together, even though I'm pretty experienced at assembling furniture. Lots of parts, some of which aren't labelled.
2) Two drawers arrived broken, the cheap plywood that this thing is made from was basically pulverized into something that looked like shredded wheat.
I have no confidence that the material this thing is made from will stand much use, be durable, or even retain its looks at all. It's poorly made plywood furniture that you get to take hours to assemble.
I recently ordered this desk for my daughter's bedroom. It is a very nice desk. High quality and very sturdy. The drawers move very smoothly. As noted in a few other reviews, the color is not a bright white but a bit 'creamy', however it still blends fine with my daughter's bright white bed, etc.
Very solid and worth the extra money. The drawers pull out nice and smooth, and they hold lots of my daughter's supplies. I love how the top was already put together. All I had to do was attach the legs. I bought a similar but cheaper desk from Target a couple of years ago for my son but I had to assemble the whole thing and what an ordeal that was! I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Purchased this for my daughter's room and it is perfect. We already had a couple of the Prepac maple bookshelves which are great because they hold so much! The desk looks great and is functional. The only con or odd thing is that the top right shelf does not go the full depth of the desk. The bottom shelf does. I'm not sure why that is.
This certainly isn't a fancy piece of office furniture, but it is simple and clean, and it is a nice home for my desktop computer and home office files. Feels sturdy and fits well with the other furniture in the room. Would buy again.
