I'm a guy living alone and I've been using a 25 year old Eureka and it's done a good job, or at least what I thought was a good job. I've been doing some remodeling in my house for the past three months and it's been creating lots of dust, some of it really heavy dry wall dust. I've been having to vacuum sometimes twice a week in the non-remodeled parts of the house just to try and stay as clean as possible. The dust has been reduced to almost nothing for the past week or so, so I'm able to vacuum less frequently. But two days ago I vacuumed my bedroom with my Eureka and it felt clean afterward. Then today I opened the Dyson, put it together and plugged it in to give it a test run. I did only half of my bedroom and was amazed at what was in the canister. It wasn't full of stuff, but after emptying it I saw the thick layer of dry wall dust at the bottom of the canister. This is the layer of dust that must have been settling into the carpet over the past few weeks. Stuff that I couldn't see. Stuff that the Eureka didn't pick up. I'm so glad I finally broke down and got one of these. I don't really like vacuuming, but I like it even less when it doesn't do a good job. This Dyson makes it easy and it doesn't seem like a chore. Anyway, I hope this helps others make a decision. see less

Purchased just 2 weeks ago and have a wish list already. It operates great and I am impressed by suction and amount of dirt picked up but the cord is about too short to make it across the living room around furniture without re-plugging a retractable feature would be sweet too. I also, wish it came with the tool set so I don't have to go out and buy a separate toolkit for $60, for my blinds and nooks and crannies. I have purchased several vacuums in my time and never had to buy tools ala cart before. They better be tough for the amount that is being charged for them. see less

I debated spending the money, but you really do get what you pay for. I can't believe how much dirt, dust and pet hair it picked up. I had to empty it twice the first go around my 1 1/2 bedroom cottage. The reviews I read were very helpful and very true. I did a before and after barefoot test on my kitchen and bathroom floors. There was no grit, sand or orther particles present. The attachments are very easy to use too. I am a believer and wish I had purchased this vacuume long ago. My dog sheds tiny, white hairs. I wear a lot of black. I will be saving a lot of money on lint rollers thanks to this vacuume. Sofa, bed spreads and chairs are now hair free. I love my new Dyson. see less

Dyson had proven itself good for me given I have wooly husky who sheds practically all year round. However, recently the connectors on both sides keep coming off. and it makes a weird sound. also the switch if you want to clean either carpet or hard flooring doesn't lock that well. would appreciate to hear back from dyson for solutions to this. my dyson is about 2 yrs old only. see less

I don't have a pet, however, I have really long hair (almost long enough to tuck into my pants!), and have gone through 3 vacuums in the last 2 years. I vacuum my small apartment twice a week, because not only do I shed like any normal person, but my hair is so long that it forms those 'tuffts' when there's only a couple strands! I decided to finally shell out the cash to buy a dyson, and then found the 'animal' vacuum.....eureka! This vacuum is made specially for animal hair, but I would recommend it for those like me with lots of hair of your own. It works brilliantly, and is so easy to empty the canister. I actually only have to vacuum once a week now, because the 'animal' does such a great job!. see less

Yes, you have to hold the trigger down. However, the power seems to last forever because of this. It doesn't run 20 minutes from the time you turn it on. It runs 20 full minutes of you holding the trigger. I could not believe how long this lasted. Now I find any excuse I can to vacuum. I also found that it never kicks debris back at you. With having two kitties and litter every where at all times, I'm used to being pelleted when I vacuum. Not anymore!!! In addition to that, I have a bad back. Previously I had a small cordless vacuum that broke down into a Dirt Devil type handheld so I could hold it over my head or do the stairs. It didn't have the power I needed and it was still awkward. I gave up on the stairs. At least until we got the DC44. I vacuumed two flights of stairs with no problems at all. My back is fine and I'm ready for more. The suction doesn't feel uber powerful on your hand like a Shop Vac tends to but it did major damage on the debris on the floor I can't even see. We have stored our Shop Vac for wet vacuuming only as the DC44 has covered the dry. When the battery is running low, there is a light that flashes when you have one minute left. It doesn't dwindle and die a dramatic theatrical death. It just stops. I haven't found the need to have a second battery as a back up but am open to it. I think I would only need a second battery for the hard core seasonal cleanings. Family reviews of Dyson have always been high and recommended. I knew I would like it, I just had no idea how much I would love it!! What a great product! Already recommending it to friends and figuring out which family member needs it for Christmas. The only thing we are hunting for now is a way to store the additional tools we purchased for pet grooming and the like. It would be great if there was something available to snap them into like the two that came with the DC44. Perhaps there is, we just haven't found it yet. You will not regret this purchase. see less

Just picked up my animal. So far I love it. I have an upright dyson now for 7 years and we love it! it has never lost suction. But I have never liked it for hard surfaces. I have tried numerous cordless vacuums and never have I found one that would last or enough power. My daughter's first floor of home is all hard flooring so she purchased this first and she loves it no complaints. Never looses suction or battery life she told me that she finishes cleaning and doesn't loose power. So I thought it would be the perfect answer to my problems. So far so good. One thing that I ask could you please let customers know if it is best to run the power down before charging or does it not matter. I know that many rechargeable batteries have a memory, so this is important issue. I noticed that out of the box it was charged so I didn't know if I should charge it or run it down first. So that should be addressed in the set up. I love the hang up devise, but you didn't make room for the extra tool that came with the animal. May I suggest making a second tool holder to hang extra parts? see less

By far the best handheld vacuum ever. I had the DC34 before this one and loved it too! Besides the fact you have to hold in the button (not that big of a deal) its perfect. The suction is great and its perfect for my tile and hardwood floors. Our house gets very dusty and collects dust bunny's. I don't even have to move the bar stools its so easy to maneuver! I can say that my DC34 after a year or longer lost it's battery life so I called and they sent me a new one no problem. Then the "motor" went out so I called again and they sent me a new one of those! It still works great I just love the way The DC44 looks and has a little more power! I'm sure they will do the same with this one if something goes wrong. Good job Dyson. I don't know why people hate this so much! All the vacuums I own are Dyson because of the quality and look!! see less

I bought this item about a week or so ago and I absolutely love it. I use it everyday. It has more suction than other handhelds I've used. I've seen people's complaints about how long the battery lasts, but if your using it to vacuum your entire house it's a waste. We have wood floors so ill sweep first and then use the vacuum to get EVERYTHING that I swept up. I ordered the wall mount for it from Dyson since i don't like plugging it in and leaving it sitting around. we have s curious 2 year old.I think Dyson makes great products and I would definitely recommend this. see less

I'm a middle-aged man and I like my tools. This vacuum is awesome! I recently retired to Arizona and with that said...... Get use to dust blowing in from the desert. My house has tile, wood and rugs on the floor. This Dyson Dream Machine is perfect for it!!!!!!! Not to mention it makes a great spider and scorpion sucker-upper. Easy to get out and have it working. Freaking amazing literally 5 minutes to put together and I was vacuuming up stuff that I could not believe was there. This thing just glides across the room, around corners,and under furniture like a ballerina. For only having one ball this thing is a beast. I purchased my DC26 and it arrived very well packaged with good instructions. I have mostly hardwood floors and was so tired of lugging around heavy vacum. This vacum really leaves the floors clean with no sandy residue at all. However, I tried the turbine head. It worked fine the first time but when I tried it the next day it would not work. I called the company and got to speak to a customer service rep. She was very patient with me walked me through what she wanted me to do . She then proceeded to tell me they would send me a new head immediately. I received the head today which was about 4 days after my phone call. The new head works very well and I am very pleased with this vacum. It is nice to find a company that stands by its product. see less

I recently purchased this Dyson vacuum at an amazing deal! Originally 400 dollars, it was on sale for [$], AND I got an [$] dollar gift card, so essentially I paid 140 for it! My vacuum died out a few weeks ago, and I told myself I was not going to buy another cheap one. I lucked into this deal's timing! I I tried it out right away. The hardwood floor attachment is perfect! It is larger than the original carpet cleaning part. It has attachments for stairs and a bristle attachment, which I will be using to clean out my car. It is so lightweight and easy to maneuver. I have arthritis in my hands and arms, and this is the best vacuum I've used that doesn't hurt my hands. Love it! see less

I really like this vacuum; this machine has what I was a looking for: very light (I refuse to use big heavy vacuum), easy to use, easier to empty, bagless and washable filters, great suction, the cord is good for me (I never had a vacuum with a longer cord). I have previously owned two Hoover vacuums and a Bissell Clean view I just purchased in February. The Hoover lasted just 4 years sweeping the floor once a week being a single male. I literally got this vacuum and swept the floor with my Bissell vacuum I purchased no more than 4 months ago. So I swept with the Bissell first and then I swept with the Dyson. I was SHOCKED!!! I couldn't believe how much dirt was left over in the carpet. I am being serious, you would not believe it unless you saw it. The ball technology design is a dream come true, talk about getting around everything. The coat rack, just glides right underneath and along the edges of furniture. It is amazing! I admit I thought Dyson vacuums were overpriced. My sister always says her 6 year old Dyson works like the day she got it. These vacuums are incredible. And no I don't work for Dyson, I wish I did! You will not regret this purchase, trust me, I rarely even leave product reviews! see less

My only complaint is that We have 14 stairs and I can only reach 13 of the stairs...so that top step won't get vacuumed every time! see less

I recently got the blue Dyson Canister vacuum, which comes with one all-purpose nozzle, that you can use on hard floors and rugs. That nozzle has wheels, and it's just too bulky to use on hardwood floors for me. The articulating-hard-floor tool is real handy and can get around and under everything. But it is for hard floors, not rugs. Don't even try it on rugs, that is not what it is designed for. I like it fine, but, I'm not one of those crazy Dyson fans. I was replacing a 20 year old Electrolux when I got this Dyson, and I have to say, the Electrolux was better. The way the bristles are arranged, this hard floor tool doesn't allow all the dirt to be picked up as well as the Electrolux floor nozzle did. BUT the Dyson is still way better than most vacuums in this price range, so I am happy with my purchase. see less

My sister loves the dyson I bought her, and I love it, too. It's so versitile. We can use it to vacuum the tile and the carpet, and the hose reaches into corners and even up on shelves. I use it to dust and pick up hair that other vacuums would leave behind. The powerful suction goes deep into the carpet and pulls of layers of dirt and leaves the floor feeling clean and brand new. I decided that a Dyson was the way to go [...]. I tried to decipher between all the different models of Dyson. I finally decided that the DC33 would probably suit our family of 5 plus a shih-tzu just fine. I have NOT been disappointed with my choice at all! I am still absolutely amazed every time I vacuum the house! I love the fact that it has a long cord. I do have to unplug it once and move it...but with a 1900 sq foot house that would be expected! I love how easy it is to empty...with just a push of a button it is emptied directly into the garbage (I do choose to empty it in the outside garbage can because of the dust). It switches from hard floor surfaces to carpet easy and works great on both surfaces! The pull out wand is easy to use and stretches from the bottom of the stairwell to the top step with no problems. I know some people have complained about the vacuum falling backwards when the hose is outstretched but I have not had that experience. I tend to vacuum the house 1-2 times a week, we do not eat outside the kitchen, do not wear our shoes in the house, and our dog is not the shedding breed of dog, so overall I think that we are a pretty clean family until I vacuum...absolutely amazing how much dirt is there! I have been very happy with this purchase! see less

We recently bought a Dyson vacuum and Zorb came with it. We have new carpet with no stains, BUT, we have 3 large dogs. I vacuum daily and also clean the carpet with a carpet machine monthly using only hot water, no soap as soap will remain in the carpet and attract dirt- so self-defeating. I wanted to deodorize the carpet, so I gave Zorb a try and WOW! This stuff is amazing! It completely deodorized the carpet leaving a fresh, clean smell and also improved the appearance of the carpet making it look new again. This product is worth every penny and I would highly recommend it. Love, Love Love it! see less

I must say that I was pretty impressed with this product. It picked up most of the stains in our carpet (even the ones that had been there awhile!) There were a few that it did not get, but I am thinking that repeat applications would do the trick since it did diminish the appearance of the stains considerably. Our new apartment had been professionally cleaned and the landlord said if a cat pee smell came back to give him a call becuase he had a gurantee that a cat pee smell wouldnt come back. Sure enough when I walked up the stairs the smell smacked me in the face. I called and he couldn't said that carpet cleaner couldnt come back over for a couple weeks. So I complained to a friend and she gave me some of this and wow! I left this on overnight and havnt smelled the cat pee smell since! Plus I sprinkled the rest in a spot by the front door that was dingy and it brightened it up! Oh and I don't own a Dyson...I used my Bissel Healthy Home.I went and bought my own bag =) see less

I was hesitant to pay that much for a bottle of spray cleaner considering the luck I usually have with them. After seeing other reviews I was tempted though and I was SO thrilled at how amazing it made my carpet! Even old pet stains came out that I couldn't get out with other expensive stain sprays! OH! I've had this can of dyzolv up in my closet since I bought my Dyson vacuum (it came with it)...it's been there for years. Recently we had a flood in our house and our carpet was covered with red mud. The professionals came out to clean it, but they didn't get all the way to the baseboards. So I started cleaning with the traditional carpet cleaners I have always used, but I realized I didn't have enough for the entire area. That's when I pulled out the old can of dysolv to try. Wow, it worked BETTER and FASTER at getting the red mud out than anything I have ever used! And it doesn't completely soak your carpet to it is dry very quickly, nearly instantly. I'm sold! I will be using this again. see less

Purchased this vacuum a few weeks ago, I LOVE IT! It seriously gets the job done. I've had MANY vacuums and this is by far the best. So glad I made the investment, wondering why I didn't do it sooner?!? It's very light weight, easy to cart around, the attachments are great and the suction is amazing! One of my favorite features is the fact that it can get under very small spaces. This vac only needs a few inches and it will fit all the way under my couch, nightstands and dresser. Most vacs aren't able to lay completely flat to where they can vacuum completely under a dresser, this Dyson does!!! I am very satisfied and although it is a little pricey I think it's well worth every penny! see less

This is a well designed tool! It follows you around like a well behaved pet and works like a dream. I used a DC33 all floors for quit a while and it worked well, but was a bit cumbersome for the variety of floor situations in our home. The DC39 works well in every situation so far. This machine is quiet, Light weight, cleans well and is very easy to use! I would like to see ten feet added the power cord length and feel the connector for storing the hose and tube section could be easier to use, but have no complaints with this hard worker that would prevent me from recommending this Dyson product! If you do have issues, Dyson Customer support is tops! see less

I just received my first Dyson. I bought it because I want a vacuum that is powerful, reliable, and durable. I am impressed with the suction; I could not believe the amount of dust and dirt the machine picked up. I contacted the Support line, and I found them to be courteous, patient, and knowledgeable. I have all of the attachments and I tried them all, cleaning from floor to ceiling. I need to get used to not having a bag and emptying the canister into the trash; the dust particles can fly up so I may get a mask due to asthma. Also, I want to keep the canister dust-free so I will be using gloves to wipe the inside after each use with a damp cloth. see less

I have had many vacuum cleaners over the years and was a bit reluctant to spend the money a Dyson costs but it is sure worth it.... the ease that it is put together is worth every penny ......no more swearing and wrestling with vacuum pieces trying to assemble it...... I swear the pictures on the boxes were misprints because mine never went together that way the first few attempts........and the Dyson is user friendly........ the attachments go on and off in a second........... the machine is very light and powerful......... now instead of avoiding vacuuming......I now look for more to vacuum........... the machine is quiet and it is possible to hear the phone and or tv when vacuuming....... thanks alot.... my now cleaner house thankx you too........ see less

I purchased this fan and the table top fan. They are both great. The tower fan I have for my bedroom. I am handicapped and the remote helps with out having to ask for help or getting up on my own (which is difficult). The ease of cleaning these machines was also a selling point for me. Because of my handicapp it is difficult to lug fans around, take them apart and clean them. These are perfect and fit in my life wonderfully. Just wipe and go. Can't get any easier than that! Thank you for developing these easy to put together and maintenance free machines. Not to mention the tremondous amount of air they move. Much more than the traditional fans. see less

I originally bought this for the dusting wand which was well rated. The combination of long bristles and velcro captures all the dust. The surprise was the mattress tool. Despite its name, this is what the upholstery tool should be. It has these bands of really aggressive velcro-type felt on it that is really good at picking up hair and fluff. I used it on my couch and after covering every nook and corner I filled the bin on my dc25. It was disgusting to think all of that grime and dirt had been there the whole time and missed by the original upholstery tool. The flexible crevice tool does not bend much, only about 45degrees from the straight postion, but it really makes a difference on cleaning dryers. I sucked out 2 bins worth of lint from my dryer with this thing and cut off 20mins on the normal dry cycle. This tool will pay for itself just in electricity savings! I only wish I got it sooner. see less

We are a three dog household, a Rott mix and two Siberian Huskies, I also work in an animal clinic as a vet tech. Let me just say that I can see this tool saving out house. One of our huskies is still blowing her coat and we are well into summer, I filled two canisters on just her and she didn't even look that bad to begin with. She's the dog that will leave little tufts of hair around the house, the other two are just stray hairs. Bella hates being groomed and I've been brushing her inside because she howls and carries on (I don't know what the neighbors must think I'm doing to her). She sat pretty quit when I tried the groom tool on her, like she almost enjoyed it. My other husky is longer, more fine hair. He laid down and was pretty content with it. I think the Rott mix might have to grow her hair out a bit more for it to work on her (she was shaved down the beginning of summer). It would be nice if Dyson came out with a replacement head though, and maybe other sized brush attachments for different coats? The bristles are sharp like any slicker brush, so you have to be careful not to dig into the skin. This is a fun tool and will get loads of use in our house. I just wish it hadn't taken me so long to discover it existed! see less

Given, our dog HATES being groomed, but we are training him to like it and associating it with treats. It really helps to lower the amount of hair we are finding around the house, and we have a husky. Totally recommend this product Target, as the shipping was really quick. see less

I purchased this fan and the table top fan. They are both great. The tower fan I have for my bedroom. I am handicapped and the remote helps with out having to ask for help or getting up on my own (which is difficult). The ease of cleaning these machines was also a selling point for me. Because of my handicapp it is difficult to lug fans around, take them apart and clean them. These are perfect and fit in my life wonderfully. Just wipe and go. Can't get any easier than that! Thank you for developing these easy to put together and maintenance free machines. Not to mention the tremondous amount of air they move. Much more than the traditional fans. see less

I am happy with the fan part of the machine. I turned the heat on for a test run and it did produce heat. The weather is too warm right now to really test the heat feature. It's quite, the air is constant (does not waffle). Well made, but a bit pricey as all Dyson products are. see less

we have 7 kids aged 12-2. we bought this fan in the winter to push air around our newborn twins' rooms. we quickly learned it was a great "white noise" producer to block out the sounds of their 5 older siblings. we actually take the fan with us whenever we travel because it the essential noise blocker, air mover and the babies sleep best with it. love. see less

The fan works and looks wonderful. Everything you get from a conventional fans minus the annoying noise. Mind you it's not without noise but it's a world apart from normal fans. I bought a referb but you can tell the workmanship is great. A joy all around. I recommend it all around. see less

I have been wanting this fan for SO long! I finally found it on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond at half price! The box was damaged but not the fan. Lucky for me, right? I unpacked it with the biggest smile on my face. Just as I knew it would be...it's perfect! It's quiet on all levels to me. Now I can finally have a fan in the kitchen with the grand kids around without them getting into trouble for putting toys in it just to hear the sound. Kids!! What are ya gonna do? I actually thought this was a different Dyson attachment that I had previously owned.It wasn't the same one.But it did seem to be made a little more flimsily than the dyson products that came with my DC 14.I wasn't that happy with the item. see less

Good size,much easier to clean furniture than the little fabric brush that comes with the Dyson. I have the Dyson ball animal and it works well with this. Also good for vacuuming the pillows and the dog hair from the comforter on our bed. see less

I just got my new Dyson AM03 fan set up which is very simple to do in a few minutes and it distributes air fantastically and really helps to cool down my room. I love the remote control and the variable speeds available and the 2 year warranty only sweetens the deal. I am a fan of Dyson products. I have the handheld, a DC25 and now this fan. Although pricey, I have found the Dyson products to be worth the money. They are well made and work as promised. I am using this fan in the bedroom because it gets the sun all day and does not cool down enough at night. This fan is perfect because the dimmer switch allows you to have a really nice range of air flow. I do not find it makes any more noise than a conventional fan, but I like white noise to sleep by. One of the main reasons for purchasing this fan was ease of cleaning. I have cats and I was constantly trying to clean fan blades I could not get too and could not stand to look at dirty, nasty, furry blades. Cleaning this fan is like a dream come true.
