I'll be honest. At first I was hesitant how this game would be because it was now being made by Obsidian Entertainment. Forget all that, I purchased the game on day one and have literally NOT stopped playing it. I'm addicted, really. The first thing you recognize are the graphics. The graphics are superior to almost any other game that I have played on high def. One problem that I had with [a different game] was that it took awhile before you can see the distance when walking in the wasteland. I believe Vegas is quicker and you can see farther than ever before. The gameplay is similar to [a different game] but the developers added in different weapons, armor, tactical weapons, and even tactical ammunition. What makes this game stand out from the rest is that you get to determine who your character will be. Even more so by allowing entire communities, gangs, and individuals to rate you to help develop your character by your distinguished choices of how you take action. I have played literally non-stop the past few days and I believe I am nowhere near completion of this game. The side missions are just as fun as the main missions in the game, with added depth. Another cool feature is that there is a gambling system where you can earn money or lose it quickly. All different types of gambling are available on this game. The music is classic and resembles [a different game]. It does well adding in a Western type twist into the radio stations that are played. This open RPG game is for serious gamers who enjoyed [other games]. So far the story is amazing and very detailed oriented, letting you decide who you want to have as allies or enemies. The only negative comment I have is that this game is so much fun that I can't put it down. If you looking to waste some time, definatley pick up this game. But don't be suprised if you suddenly glance at the clock and you noticed you played the majority of the night and you have work in the next hour.
[...] was very excited when I heard New Vegas would be available [...] I wish I hadn't [purchased it], because I am now unable to load any of my save files. What did I do to deserve this? Well, I went into Vault 3. That's right, that's all it takes--this game is so broken that simply entering this Vault is enough to render your save files unloadable. I've tried everything--all three saves I have are corrupted, and refuse to load at all. [I tried] deleting the current patch. [...] and all three save files refuse to load.[...] There are apparently other areas/quests that cause issues to this degree. Part of me feels like I'm somehow responsible--like maybe I should have been keeping separate save files for every 5-10 hours of playtime in case something like this happened. Then I remember that SUCH AN IDEA IS RIDICULOUS, AND I SHOULD BE ABLE TO COUNT ON MY GAME NOT BECOMING UNPLAYABLE FOR NO REASON AT ALL.Please take my advice, and don't buy this game. This happened after 50+ hours of playtime, which I've now lost. It MIGHT be fixed if/when they put out a patch; however, at this point, I'm writing my game off as dead. [...] This game should not have been released. It's a greedy money grab by people who were looking to cash in on the Christmas market. I've played betas with fewer problems. Don't be [tricked] out of your money like I was.
