Fleischmann's Active Dry Yeast - 4oz

Great yeast! I use it all the time to bake bread!

I bought this to make pizza dough and the dough did not rise. Just to be sure, I did a counter test with this yeast, warm water and sugar and got no reaction after 15 minutes. Either I got a defective batch or this product is not what it used be.

Yeast is extremely active. Seems like a lot of people don’t know how to activate dry yeast. Never had a problem with this brand.

Wow didn’t see previous comments but now after trying this and the yeast continues to not foam I looked at reviews. I agree, this yeast is inactive.

Wish I read the other reviews before purchasing… the yeast was dead despite being well before the expiration date. Completely useless for making bread. Must’ve been stored incorrectly or something (have used the same product countless times from other stores successfully)

Switched from the instant bread machine version and the bread tastes yeastier which I prefer a strong bread flavor. Worth the extra 10 minutes to activate

I made two different batches with this yeast and had to throw both out. It would not rise. Avoid this one.

i saw some reviews about people buying the dry yeast and it was old or inactive. i thought maybe it was a bad batch. WRONG. my yeast was inactive and i had to throw it out. don't buy it

This yeast did not react. I tried several batches. I think something was wrong with it.

Not sure if it’s because this was old, although it hasn’t officially expired. I tried to make cinnamon rolls and followed the instructions on the package and it did not work. I wish target carried active yeast instead of only instant.

I had to cut my rise time almost in half because of how fast the dough rose.

I like buying this bulk yeast as opposed to the packet. It stores well in my fridge and the price is good.

Works really well! The first time I tried this brand, I used water at 104°F then 109°F and it did not proof well. Then I bumped it up to 113 °F and it was perfect. The only reason I’m taking off a star is I don’t recommend the temp they suggest.

We make our own pizza dough with this yeast. It works every time unless you make human error. I used VERY hot water instead of the recommended temperature. I started measure the temperature first and the dough rises every time!

Does the job well. Good value.

I bought the yeast here because it's cheaper than almost all the grocery stores I cross checked and I was also tired of buying the packets. I keep it in the freezer to prolong the life of the yeast. Happy baking, everybody!

I bought this to use in my bread machine - not the best choice. Apparently there is a difference between bread machine (instant) yeast and standard yeast. That being said, this still works just fine, you just have to let it set in the machine before adding other ingredients. (Add to warm water and sugar, let sit 10 minutes until foamy, then add flour and other ingredients)
