I've hated this printer since the day we brought it home. It wasn't our first choice, it was just all the store had in stock. There's always some error - can't connect to network, paper jam when there's NO paper, low ink/no ink error even though there's plenty of ink, the print quality is terrible, too... The scan feature is the only thing that works without issue. As a printer though, it's useless.

Junk. Do not buy this or any printer. Go to to a local print ship. and save hours of time. I've been setting up printers on my own since 2001. This printer is so difficult to set up I couldn't get it to print plugged into my desktop or laptop. I had to print from my phone via an app. Everything anyone needed printed in my house had to be sent to my phone, because no other phones could be connected. Once my wifi network name changed a year later, the printer was totally useless. Called Canon and they told me that after a year they no longer offer support for their sub par printers and I would have to pay an extra $20 to get support. If the support was unsuccessful they would give me a $20 voucher...for a new printer. I told them I'm I'd rather through it away. Now I have spent 4 hours trouble shooting this piece of junk and I probably am going to through it away and go to the local print shop.

Fine Printer for Home Use

Fredericksburg Printer - 6 days ago
This printer does a nice job of printing the odd list or document for home use. Once it has been set up. Set up was a nightmare due to MS Windows 11 security and general confusion regarding Canon support. Found out after the fact that Canon has discontinued this model and provides no direct technical support. Third parties are out there to assist but, it all seems so sketchy and solutions are offered that are not necessary. A total of 5 hours from start to prinit. My big lesson is to check for software compatability and support availability, before purchase. Dont presume that Micro Soft will make it easy. Securty versus function, the cunundrum of modern day computers. There was a reason(s) it was on sale!

Waste of Money

When I bought this printer a year ago, the reviews were fairly good, and for the first few months that I owned it, I understood why. When it works (and the operative word there is "when"), it produces high quality printed pages. More often than not, though, it takes a solid twenty minutes of finessing (spraying with compressed air, turning off and on, loading and unloading paper, watching helpful youtube videos) to get it to print just a page. I've been determined to get my money's worth from this high maintenance thing, but after spending the past half hour trying (and failing, over and over) to print a single page, I give up. This is a waste of money; it would be a waste of money at one third of the price. So, so frustrating.

I bought the MG3620 printer, because I just purchased a Chromebook, and my older Canon MX920 was not compatible with the Chromebook. I read reviews for the MG3620 that indicated there were difficulties installing the ink cartridges and especially with getting the printer connected wirelessly. I started the installation with some trepidation. The only issue with installing the ink cartridges was that when you flip down the bar that holds the cartridge in place, it forms an upwards ramp towards the back of the cartridge container space. I found that I had to put the cartridge on the ramp, and slide it upwards into place, rather than try to push it in parallel to the ground. That worked easily. Next, people wrote that they had trouble connecting the printer to wireless, so I found a youtube video that suggested downloading the Canon printer app to your device, and then follow the instructions displayed by the app. With the printer turned ON, and without pressing any other printer buttons, I downloaded the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app to my Android phone from the Google PlayStore. When the app opened, it found the printer, and I followed the displayed instructions to connect my phone to the printer. My Chromebook was on, so I went to Settings/Advanced/Printers, and saw that the MG3620 was visible. I tapped the button to connect the Chromebook to the printer, and was able to print pages. The whole wireless effort took around 10 minutes. So far, so good with this printer. It looks like a good value, and I hope this discussion resolves some of the installation issues that some people were having.
