@bookquoth “The curious thing about causes is that they usually continue well without you. The question is whether you can continue well without them.” 👗🗞✍🏻🗳 . . I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. It’s the second novel in the A League of Extraordinary Women series, the first being Bringing Down the Duke. Evie Dunmore is—without a doubt—one of my favorite new authors. Just like Duke, Rogue is a historical romance centered around the women’s suffragist movement in 1860s England. As you’d know from Duke, Lucie is the groups’s leader and a close friend of Annabelle. Unexpectedly, Lucie finds herself co-owner of a newly-acquired publishing house with none other than her childhood nemesis, rogue Tristan. Chaos ensues. Concurrently, Lucie is so wrapped up in the Cause that she doesn’t have time for anything else—and will not allow time for anything else. How long can she go on long like this, ignoring the other parts of herself? It was so good. The smart, witty banter between Lucie & Tristan was quite possibly my favorite part of the book. The character development of both Lucie & Tristan was so well done, and I might have liked this book even more than the first. Can these be made into movies, please? There’s a bit of Bridgerton vibes, you know. 👗

About the Book

"A lady must have money and an army of her own if she is to win a revolution--but first, she must pit her wits against the wiles of an irresistible rogue bent on wrecking her plans...and her heart. Lady Lucie is fuming. She and her band of Oxford suffragists have finally scraped together enough capital to control one of London's major publishing houses, with one purpose: to use it in a coup against Parliament. But who could have predicted that the one person standing between her and success is her old nemesis and London's undisputed lord of sin, Lord Ballentine? Or that he would be willing to hand over the reins for an outrageous price--a night in her bed. Lucie tempts Tristan like no other woman, burning him up with her fierceness and determination every time they clash. But as their battle of wills and words fans the flames of long-smouldering devotion, the silver-tongued seducer runs the risk of becoming caught in his own snare. As Lucie tries to out-manoeuvre Tristan in the boardroom and the bedchamber, she soon discovers there's truth in what the poets say: all is fair in love and war.."--
