A: Thank you for your question, Nancy, as we only want you to be 100% satisfied with the results you receive after using Cascade Platinum ActionPacs. The easiest answer to your question is to make sure your china is dishwasher-safe. This is decided by the manufacturer of the dishes. Never wash old, worn, antique, or family heirlooms in the dishwasher. When in doubt, wash by hand. As a rule, hand-painted and antique china should never be cleaned by machine. Also know that platinum or gold trim on china will fade regardless of detergent used, and they're usually not considered dishwasher safe.

On the positive side, these pods clean perfectly. My dirtiest pots and pans come out completely clean with no scrubbing needed. Unfortunately, the smell is so overpowering that I can’t use them. The smell is unpleasantly perfume-y and fills not only the kitchen but surrounding rooms, too. It also scents my dishes, and I can smell the perfume when drinking my coffee. I’ve switched to Cascade Free and Clear pods which have a very light scent that disappears quickly and doesn’t linger on dishes. Unfortunately these pods are hard to find and aren’t carried by grocery stores in my area.

We're sorry that you're finding a scent left behind on your dishes. Our products go through many quality checks, to ensure that each one meets our high standards. All our ingredients, including our perfumes, are thoroughly tested to ensure that they are safe to use. However, a scent being left behind is not typical, and we have some tips that may help. If your dishwasher has a filter, remove the filter and clean it according to the manufacturer's instructions. It's possible dishwasher cleaner broke up lingering food residue which is stuck in the filter. Also, be sure to check that sprayer arms are not clogged to ensure proper rinsing. Some materials, such as cast iron and plastic, can absorb odors. If certain items always pick up an odor, they could be old or worn to the point of being porous. This can cause the scent of the detergent to be more easily absorbed into the surface, and these items should be washed by hand. For all other items which are dishwasher safe, a scent should not remain on the item if they are rinsed properly, whether by hand or in the dishwasher. It may help to know that our Cascade Platinum is more strongly scented, and we're very glad you've found our Cascade Free & Clear, which we recommend to those who prefer a lighter fragrance. We had tried evey other type and combination of dishwasher water agent and cleaning powder and liquid but this is the only thing we have found that cleans the dishes without a weird residue.

These are ideal capsules for the dishwasher 👍 The dishes are washed perfectly after them, there is not a single stain on the glasses, and the grease is washed off perfectly. They have a smell, but after washing there is no smell left on the dishes, they are washed off well with water. They also come in a convenient package with a lid. For some reason they stuck together, but that's not a problem.

I'm extremely disappointed with this dish detergent. The smell is overpowering, and it lingers on the dishes even after washing. The detergent decolors the dishes badly, leaving them dull and faded. The strong smell raises safety concerns. Overall, I cannot recommend this product due to its strong smell, decoloring the dishes, and potential health risks.

These pods are the best ones to buy because they work on the first try. When I used one overnight I felt It wasn't going to work, but after the dishwasher ran over night my dishes were clean and ready to use again.
