Description

About the Book

From the most remote ancient times it has been believed that a primordial substance, odorless and invisible, penetrates the intimate space of beings and things, and it has generally been presented as a kind of water. It is the Ether, the Avir of the Kabbalists.

About the Author

The scholar George Margoliouth studied the subject, particularly in the work of Moisés de León, the Spanish kabbalist to whom the writing of the Zohar is attributed. The result of his research is this short essay, the translation of which we offer today. A son of Polish parents, George Margoliouth was a scholar of Semitic languages, orientalist and writer at the British Museum, where he was in charge of Hebrew, Syriac and Ethiopian manuscripts for more than twenty years.
