A: Hi there! The Gel Couture nail colors are a longwear nail enamel. They take slightly longer to dry than a classic nail color. A classic takes about 2 minutes per layer to dry, the Gel Couture takes about 5 minutes per layer to dry. Once you have your layers on, it takes about 15 minutes to dry, but you always want to refrain from busy nails for the first hour or so after your mani.

A: Hi there Deirdre! The Gel Couture nail colors come in a wide range of colors and finishes. Online it can be harder to know what you’re seeing so scroll down and read the “HIGHLIGHTS” to learn if the color is opaque, sheer, shimmer, etc. And yes, the Wearing Hue is a creamy delicate white with a slight blush of champagne and shimmer.

A: Hi Amanda! Don't use a UV lamp with the Gel Couture nail colors and Top Coat This formula is made for easy home use. No base coat is used. Apply 2 coats of color to bare nails, finish with the top coat and let your nails dry like a normal nail enamel. Remove with your regular polish remover.

A: Hi there AMM! The Gel Couture colors were made to go over a bare nail bed, with not base coat. While base coats help classic nail enamels adhere to the nail bed, we don't think the Gel Couture will work well over a base coat.

I really like this polish because, when used with the top coat, it stays on for a long time. It does, however, completely dry out my nails. My nails are so brittle and dry since using it so I’m hoping I can find a nail strengthener to help so I can still use this polish.

This is my go to for a DIY gel manicure. I have a real gel kit that i love, but it damages my nails so this is my favorite when in between gel manicures. It goes on smooth, it’s opaque, it lasts a decent amount of time, dries quick and doesn’t damage nails my nails. Can’t say enough good things! This is the color princess charming.

I have been using Essie Ballet Slippers in regular colour and tried Essie Fairy Tailor in the Gel couture range for a change and love the colour, the application was superb however I required 3 coats to get an even streak free finish. Fairy Tailor is The Perfect, most amazing slightly pinky sheer nude - the IT colour of now. I sealed my colour with the Essie Gel Setter clear top coat.

Normally nail polish chips within a day for me and I don’t like going to the nail salon… when I have tried gels in a nail salon before I felt like they damaged my already weak nails. With this polish I can paint my own nails and it lasts for a minimum of about 5 days usually which I think is pretty darn good! No damage to my nails, and easy to remove like regular nail polish. I use the base coat and then do two coats of nail polish, and then a coat of the top coat.

I’m not impressed with this nail polish at all. It’s streaky so not the easiest to apply and it also doesn’t last very long. I had better luck applying the red color but the polish still lasted maybe 5 days. Gel nail polish with a LED light is definitely the way to go.

This applies very smoothly, but it's more a cool bubblegum pink, versus the relative neutral than I'm seeing in the photos. I will have to layer it with Mademoiselle (which I also like but is too yellow). I should have purchased Fairy Tailor but I thought it would be too peachy. Probably would have looked more neutral on my warm skin.
