[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great smoke detector. The First Alert Battery Powered Smoke Alarm was easy to install right out of the packaging. I love the Hush Button for when I forget about the pizza in the oven but feel confident that this smoke detector will keep my family safe in an emergency. It was simple to put batteries in and hang where my previews smoke detector was. I think it looks better than the old one. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend to anyone who is in the market for an updated smoke detector.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this First Alert Battery Powered Smoke Alarm for a while now and it is awesome. The alarm is loud enough to wake anyone out of their sleep but not too loud. I like the Hush Button feature because it lasts a couple minutes and then it resets itself. I have replaced the other smoke alarms in my home with this one. These smoke alarms are also very reasonable in price too. They are very sturdy and made from quality materials. I do wish they came in different colors but whites matches everything. The installation was very easy as well.

Who’da thunk I’d ever be writing a review about of a thing like a <$10 smoke detector? But First Alert really deserves credit for the SAION as a replacement unit for a another detector which has died or aged out. Most times you have to drill at least one new hole in the wall or ceiling because the anchor points are never the same. Not the SAION, who's mounting plate has multiple slots, which allows you to line the plate up with the existing screw holes from the old detector. It worked for 3 of the 4 detectors in the hodgepodge detector mix in Venerable Mom's home, and I'm not knocking off stars for number 4, which was some ancient thing the size of a frisbee. The mounting plate is also somewhat oversized, concealing the unpainted area you usually find behind a detector. I am knocking off a star for the clumsy batter compartment design, which lacks battery polarity markings and requires some pushing and jiggling to get the battery seated so the battery compartment door will close back into the unit. Just me but I also would have appreciated a bigger area on the back of the detector to write the installation date. Still all and all a good unit particularly considering the price.

I love that it has a hush button for when I dinner and I don’t have to hurry up and remove the alarm to quiet it. Easy to install and looks nice. Easy to test using the same button as the hush feature. It also has a long warranty which makes it more trustworthy. Comes with a tamper resistance feature ensuring no one can remove your battery but has an optional pin to lock it in. It has a Side load battery door that slides. Can be used on a wall or on the ceiling.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What is great about this fire alarm number one is that when you’re cooking you don’t have to stand underneath of it to wave the smoke away. Plus to change the battery you don’t have to take it completely apart to do it. You just open the side door and replace the battery. And when it does go off you can just hit the silence button without taking it apart. Great design and very efficient. And this company has been in this business since 1958, they know what they are doing and making it better! You will be completely satisfied.

I cook on high temperatures sometimes and every time I do my old alarms would go off and we would have to wave our hands to get them to stop. With this built in hush button it’s making my cooking go just a little bit easier. Now I can feel safe that we will be alarmed in the case of a real emergency and I can hush that thing up when I need to! I know there is alot of you that can relate. Thanks first alert! It was easy to install and will be easy to maintain because the battery access is in the front. The alarm is very loud so it will be sure to wake us up in the event it is ever needed. It even has a hush button in case it goes off while I am cooking. I feel safe knowing this is in my granddaughters' room. It is very durable and also easy to clean. I highly recommend this brand and it is the one my local fire department hands out to those in need.

No bells or whistles here, but a nice piercing alarm when it detects smoke. The great part is a hush button that silences it with having to remove the unit or put a wet towel over it. And the easy access battery compartment is so much better than the usual removal of the unit to access. I expect this to last years with minimal maintenance requirements, and being basic, the battery should last a long period before changing. A+ product all around, and easy to mount where you need it.

From its easy installation an easy access to replace the nine volt battery ! The battery life if phenomenal! Everyone should have these in their homes! It give peace of mind an security! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fairy basic fire alarm with a few advantages over previous alarms. The method of changing batteries is easier with a separate door to change it in. Can't imagine changing a battery anytime soon tho. The mute button actually works when pressed, where my previous one had to be removed from the.kitchen area because of the issue silencing it. I was unaware that these pick up shower steam as well which was interesting but proves it offers sensitive and reliable protection. Mounting is also fairy simple.

This first alert battery powered smoke detector is wonderful! It even came with this great " hush-button" as they call it. It really comes in handy, especially when its my wife's turn to cook.. Lol It was extremely easy to install and has that beautiful nice and sleek design. We both love this smoke detector. Its literally the nicest one we have seen. I now plan on putting one of these up in every room in the house! We love it and highly recommend it to anyone!

I installed it near the kitchen, and am super glad it has the hush button, as my oven smokes easily and the alarm often goes off. The battery door works easily, it was simple to get the battery in and out of the alarm. Putting it on the front makes it accessible, it opened up easily. The mounting process was also simple, I did not have any issues with the installation. This is my new favorite smoke alarm brand.

Very easy to wire and install and I really love the hush button feature! I tend to burn toast and the alarm I had went off frequently, haven’t had to turn this one off yet but glad it has the hush feature! I intend to purchase more and use on a new construction project. Would recommend for any new remodel or new home project. I don’t really have much more I can say, this review is requiring a long explanation!!

It does work when smoke is detected. I really like that it has a hush button. It is loud and works great. It was very easy to install as well. It took a total of 5 minutes to get the screws in the wall, the battery in and put the alarm in its base. I also like that just the base can be mounted and the main alarm can be easily taken off to change the battery. The battery compartment is easily accessible and easy to open and close. This alarm is loud and can be heard from any point in my house. The hush button is easy to push if needed. I recommend.

Also like the front battery compartment. Makes it much easier to put in new battery. First Alert is a good brand and has been around for years. I have bought products from them before and will again. There products are well made, and they make good reliable products. I trust their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, to alert me in case of fire or carbon monoxide. This product is has a 10 year warranty also.

I like this particular model because it has a hush button on it that I can use to test the batteries as well as hush it if it goes off during cooking. It comes with a 9 V battery included and the battery compartment is on the side allowing you for easy access to it when you need to change the battery. The mounting system is easy to install on a ceiling or a wall. I like to use this model mounted and unmounted so that I can easily access the unmounted models in my dining room. The 85 decibel sound is loud enough to get your attention when sleeping. I highly recommend the first alert brand to keep your home safe.
