A: I was confused as well. I ordered a medium for my 5 year old based on the size chart and they were huge! I feel like these are either women's or big kids sizes.

submitted byKatelyn - 3 years agoTarget staff supportA: The sizes cover a huge range. Medium goes all the way from little kid size 9-13 through big kid (youth) size 1-2.5. My daughter wears size 2 shoes and medium is a good fit with extra toe space.

Q: Are these socks for kids or toddlers? I just ordered them thinking they would fit my grandchildren who are 8 years old and a size 2 shoe. Will they work for them?

If you’re looking for socks for an 8 year old, these socks in general are the right ones. (I know this because they are labeled as Girls’ socks, and not Baby or Toddler’s socks.) These crew socks are so thick and comfy for my kiddo. I can already tell she’ll get a lot of wear out of them before she grows out of them. I like them a lot more than the thin socks with characters on them because they offer more support and don’t get as sweaty.

Too thick and bulky, too wide. They fall down and are uncomfortable. We had cat and jack socks before which were better. Pass on this set.

My kids love the Cat & Jack socks, but they're becoming harder to find in the size and styles they like. It's a shame too because these socks are soft with nice cushion and they hold up well. Hoping Target isn't slowly getting rid of them.
