If your floors are not sealed or finished, we recommend you test Murphy Oil Soap in a small, out-of-the -way area to see how it works on your floor. If your floor dulls, don’t use it on your floor. A: Yes, you can use this on Antique Cherrywood. As long as the wood is sealed. We suggest not to use Murphy Oil Soap on unfinished, unsealed, or waxed wood surfaces because they may be water sensitive.

A: Hello! Murphy's is a gentle cleaner that removes build up of soil, dust, wax and polish from finished wood surfaces. For tougher jobs we'd recommend using 1/2 cup per gallon of warm water. Hope this helps!

I bought Murphy’s Oil today and have never been more disappointed. After years of using this growing up and loving it, it has most definitely changed for the worse. My house has a HORIFFIC Citronella smell. Citronella is fine outside but who in the World wants their house to wreak of Citronella. So disappointing!! Please bring back the original formula and smell or you’ve lost a customer for life!! I used to love the smell of the true original Murphy’s Oil.

The Smell is horrific!!!! Citronella outside is one thing but to make my house smell of citronella is horrific. It burns my throat and I made it weaker than directed. I used to love Murphy’s Oil. Too bad you changed the formula. I definitely will NOT be buying this anymore!! So sad, I grew up with Murphy’s Oil but no more! Why in the World would you add Citronella to an interior house product?

I have used Murphy’s Oil Soap for at least 25 years. I have used it traditionally on wood floors and now on my porch floors which are stained but not sealed. Because the porch is open to rain, wind and birds, I wanted to clean the boards and see how well it does with bird droppings. I did use a scrub brush and gloves to get rid of these spots and what a great job it did; no residue, and luster to the dulled wooden planks. I have also used Murphy’s on my stainless steel appliances. I am thrilled with the results. Great job Murthy’s! Please do not change a thing.

Awful. I had to stop mopping the scent was making me sick. Imagine pouring straight citronella on your floor. That would be better than this. My dog cried. I immediately rinsed out the bucket and washed my mop. Terrible!

I recently bought an antique cedar chest. When I Googled how to clean it, everything said to use Murphy's Oil Soap. I used this growing up, so I felt familiar with it and thought it was a good idea . I picked some up but the color looked different. It was a new formula (did not realize this at the time). When I used it, it took the ORIGINAL finish off of the chest! This happened days ago and I am still tore up about it- I feel like it's all I can think about. Now I need to refinish it and it won't be the original finish. I am super disappointed!!

My mother showed me that Murphy’s Oil soap is the best stain remover on clothes ever. She would have been almost 90 now. Place Murphy’s on the clothes and scratch it around with your fingers for a few seconds then add some hot water to it and scrub it with material together. Put it in your washer and when I take it out the stain is gone. It works on old stains that have been washed and dried. It works on everything from blood th BBQ sauce. I always kept a bottle in my desk drawer at work for everyone. I was the stain removal lady lol if u put it on and dint wash right away the stains still come out! It’s way better than those stain removers that r on the market. I honestly think u should market it for stain removal also. U would quadruple your sales once advertised and people see it’s a great product. My son in law is a local sheriff and he brought me his stains on uniforms and now he’s cleaning all the other deputies clothes. and keeps a bottle in his desk! It has not hurt any material that I’ve used it on either. I just wanted someone at your company to realize u have an entire other market for your product. Yes I use it to clean the house with too! I should have stock in a Murphy’s lol.

We use Murphy's for mopping our floors. The apartment where we used to live we had a roach problem. Mopping our floors with it really helped. Roaches hate this stuff and it kills them almost instantly. They avoid it like the plague. We used the concentrated kind and would add about 2 tbsps per half gallon of water. Spray it in crevices and under your sink or fridge. It has a strong smell so let your house air out afterwards. It is also a good bug repellent for any household or garden plants and probably would be great used anywhere outside where there is any kind of big problem. Especially mosquitoes.
Please remove the citronella!

I about cried when I used the last of my original Murphy's. The citronella is awful PLEASE consider returning to your original ingredients. I would not be surprised if your sales fall off with this addition. Truly the smell of the original soap is what my mom used to love and I grew up loving the smell in our house when we spring cleaned walls, doors, blinds. It was divine. I am so sad it has changed.

Read reviews for cleaning my leather interior in my truck and worked great. I just mixed a couple caps to about a gallon of hot water and cleaned up the seats and upholstery good. I used regular leather conditioner afterwards and it turned out great. Will continue using this on my vehicles.

I admit, i am still not sure how to clean the floor properly but i followed the instruction, when applied the floor looks very shiny but after about 30 min when dried the floor has a foggy film on it. Using just paper towels i can make it shiny but it’s a lot of work to polish the whole floor like that. not sure if this is a good product
