Q: The heading says for Dry Skin but the product says normal to oily skin. Which is it?

A: Someone told me years ago, gel moisturizers are mainly best for oily/combo skin. I just bought it to try because I’m menopausal but still have an oily T-Zone.

Q: Can you tell me why this needs to have blue dye in it? What exactly does that do for your skin? I think that's a horrible ingredient when you've taken the time to remove parabens. I returned mine.

Q: This product seems to be water-based and that would suggest that it goes on before a cream or oil based moisturizer, but this has dimethicone as an ingredient, which is an occlusive. Would I use this before or after a cream based moisturizer?

I bought this because all the good reviews hoping to get a good moisturizer. I do love that it gives a matte look to my skin, it spreads easily and doesn’t take a lot. And the best part is it doesn’t irritate my Rosacea or cause breakouts. The downfall is it peels. I put it on and once it dries if I touch my face it peels off, and is very noticeable. I have no complaints other than the peeling.

Within 3 dAYS OF USING, MY FACE SWELLED HORRIBLY AND MY SKIN WAS RED AND FELT BURNT. IT IS NOW EVEN DRIER THAN IT WAS BEFORE I STARTED USING IT AND I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO BRING IT BACK INTO BALANCE EVEN USING MY OLD PRODUCTS. I THOUGHT NEUTROGENA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SUPERIOR PRODUCT. THIS HAS DEFINITELY SCARED ME AWAY FROM ANYTHING FROM THIS BRAND.

This is my first time using the Nuetrogena Hydro Boost Water Face Gel. I have acne prone skin and large pores. I love this Gel because it doesn’t make my skin feel oily or sticky, it does NOT breakout my skin. I am 65 years old and still have cystic acne.(not fair) It has taken me years to find a product that actually does what it says. I’ve waisted so much money on products through the years that claim to be for acne prone skin. However when I use that product it DOES cause my acne to flare up. I’m so happy to have found a product that actually performs the way it is advertised. I will continue purchasing this product and I highly recommend it to anyone that has acne prone skin issues!

I have been using this product for years and it does not disappoint. I have sensitive skin and during the winter my face gets really dry. I can’t use a lot of products but this one has been my saving grace. It leaves my fave so soft and helps me a lot during these months and all year long. I highly recommend it. It has a higher price tag than other products but it’s worth it in my opinion.

I've been using this twice a day for over a year with zero problems. I loved it, Ride-or-Die, but this new formula first made my face red and broke me out (I rarely break out), which, of course, I blamed on other things (for months), but after elimination, it's this moisturizer. It's watery, but not in a good way. Heartbroken.

I LOVE this product from Neutrogena! My skin changed after having a baby. I had a hard time finding a moisturizer that worked on my dry face! This one keeps my face feeling hydrated all day. The smell is strong but they have a fragrance-free option I'll buy next time.

At first, the moisturizer was fine. But then a couple days in my face would itch and sting. I thought I had to get used to it so I continued using it but the itching just got worse. It did moisturize my face but it’s not worth the itch & burning. I don’t recommend at all.

I've been looking for a high quality face moisturizer. After much consideration, this seemed to be the winner. However, after using it for a week, my face actually feels drier. Not sure how that's possible. It also seems to leave a residue that's difficult to get off when washing my face. It does not soak in like water like many of the reviews here, it is definitely gel like and you need to rub it in. Not impressed with this product and would not recommend.
