Avedissian is an artist who continues to provoke through his iconoclastic images that probe ideas of consumerism, art and propaganda, creativity and copyright, and tradition and modernity.
Chant Avedissian was born in Cairo. His work has been exhibited at the British Museum, the Smithsonian Institution, the Tropenmuseum of Amsterdam, the National Museum of Scotland, and the National Gallery of Jordan. His publications include Cairo Stencils (Saqi Books).
