Q: Do I need a transmitter for this to work?

This antenna requires that you have a digital tuner in your TV (or a digital converter box if your TV does not have one), and it requires connection to a coaxial input. The only type of transmitter required would be a remote control to transmit channel scan instructions to the antenna, so any remote that controls your TV functions should be fine. I could not get the antenna to work on any of my TVs. I tried every room and every position and it wouldn't show anything but off channels, such as 18 and 21.

This works well. I live in a small city on the North Shore of MA. Occasionally, the train coming into the station will interrupt the reception which is a little annoying. Occasionally, a station or two will stop coming in—having my tv go through the reception set up works.

This is what I call a concept product. There's literally millions of them, odds are you've seen the general notion and maybe even bought something based on it. See, most concept products take an existing product, such as here with this antenna, and give it a twist or spin that simply hasn't been done before or is rarely done. The concept here is simply using 2 flat panels on a HDTV antenna instead of 1 as most do. What's going on here? When you set it up you'll notice only 1 panel has a cable to run to your TV. The other panel is essentially a means for this antenna to entrap more signals by sorta containing them and forcing them to bounce around within the space between the 2 panels. I'm betting depending on where you live and your expectations that this antenna isn't going to be for everyone. There's no one right antenna for everyone as people's location's will always play a big factor in determining whether or not it's good or not. I just know what I can typically expect from a good indoor antenna in my area and from that I know that this antenna and it's interesting concept work extremely well for me. Put it this way. For me and my area a good to great antenna usually gets me around 25-30 channels, I'm getting over 40 channels with this antenna. Bonus, it comes from a well known and respected company: Phillip's.

This worked much better than my rabbit ears, i received the shopping channels that i was looking for, and a few others, though i noticed with the storms we had this weekend, i had very poor reception again. It works great on a nice clear day, but if you have any weather , not so great. I REFUSE to pay to watch tv, so this is good enough for me.

I live on the ground floor of a garden apartment, near a local airport, in metro-NYC. I have tried many antennas. This is the first one that actually works well. I don't get all the stations, but I get all the stations I want and the picture is clear - even when planes are flying overhead. To position it, I had to find the exact right point on my front window and then use very strong (Gorilla) duct tape to attach it and then position the wire just right to get the reception. But I got it, after years of trying other brands.

Finally an antenna the both looks great and actually works. I am in a good area so reception is not that hard to get but all the flat ones that stick on the wall work ok but just don't look good. I have tried two others that looked ok but they fell short in reception and to critical on how they were aimed. I don't know if the curve has anything to do with it or the back piece but whatever it works and works well. This one got all the channels right out of the box and can put it beside the TV and not the window or wall. A neighbor of mine saw it and purchased one locally. They really are the only one to get and I'm going to get one for my other TV.

I cut my tv service and was only using internet apps. I heard about antennas to get local channels but had not tried them yet. This antenna was really easy to set up. I liked the sleek look of it and that it blended in with my living room. It was able to pick up a good amount of local channels. Signal is good and pictures quality is also great.
