  • A: Hi, Scoobysnax! The Roku Streambar doesn't come with the private listening but the Roku Streambar Pro does have the private listening remote. If you wanted the Streambar but still have the private listening you can always download the free Roku Mobile app on your phone and either plug in headphones to your phone or use Bluetooth headphones with your phone for free private listening. The last option is to buy the Voice Remote Pro which is a universal remote that has private listening as well as a rechargeable remote, lost remote finder, hands-free and push-to-talk controls.

It sounded good when it worked. I've owned two of these Streambars. Both have been problematic. Won’t let me access the tiles (apps). One simply depowered after two minutes, repeatedly.

Stops working frequently. Interrupting movies, shows and news broadcasts. Even though it resets, it is annoying. Shuts down and restarts 2 to 3 times weekly. Also my other tv, a Roku tv, is worthless and unreliable. Can't connect to Internet. I have to use my laptop connected to the Roku tv to watch anything . The Roku tv will be replaced this Christmas. Never again with this brand. Waste of money. Now for the good stuff. The sound of the Roku sound bar is real good. Better than expected.

I have a Roku Express that has less issues. I have to restart it a lot. It freezes, sometimes only shows half of the app icons, the sound quality is terrible. When it works it's not bad, but when it doesn't it's not good.

Terrible Design, Very Cheap

I’ve had the Bluetooth soundbar & subwoofer for over a year. It’s been 8 months since the subwoofer worked. Every time the subwoofer loses power it unpairs itself so I have to wait 5 minutes for it to detect the subwoofer, then the TV tries to update the subwoofer, which takes another 5 minutes, then it fails to update rendering the subwoofer completely useless.

Most subwoofers give users a choice between "Auto" turns on after sending a signal, "On" always on," or "Trigger" (must be connected to a receiver/preamp with a trigger cable.). Would love to have the bar hold the ability to play HDMI 4. It will work for several times then when turned on again, it only plays audio while showing error message. Has to be unplugged, HDMI unplugged, TV turned off and then all redone. It usually will work then although sometimes all needs to be redone.

I have had my stream bar for a few years now. I recently started investigating whether I could add / replace it with a set of Klipsch Chorus 2 speakers, running everything through a straightforward Sony receiver that had the ability to send the tv audio to the speakers. I deleted the stream bar when it appeared it wasn’t compatible with this type of setup. Once I did, the only message I saw displayed showed the system was looking for the stream bar that had been deleted. So, I added the stream bar back to the system. It appears I will have to replace my Roku tv with a non-Roku tv in order to use the higher quality speakers I have. If any Roku tech support people want to contact me to walk me through the setup using the Klipsch speakers in addition to the stream bar, you have my email.

I have had the Streambar for 5 months now. Plagued with setup problems , needed multiple resets and tech support. It only shows volume levels when in Roku mode,, frustrating when using the Streambar for sound on connected devices such as TV , game systems, TV box, etc. I will spend a little more and purchase a name brand quality sound bar.. Don't waste your money on this product.

Product worked good for the first 6 months. Now the volume is low at times and high others. The optical connection has audio static that comes through every now and then. Numbers and titles don’t always show, sometimes it just shows blocks instead. But the unit does still function except for the issues above. I have tried to do the software updates hoping that would fix the issues but the problems still persist. I really like the Roku streaming devices and that’s why I am still using this one. I will have to get one that stays out of site and hook my Bose sound bar back up….

This has great sound! I also love the dialog enhancer and loud commercial sound suppressor. 5 stars for those. However, there are issues with the apps. For example, sometimes the apps cause the device to freeze up and the device will be non responsive…then it will restart. It has issues with the Netflix app, it doesn’t remember where you left off when viewing shows on Paramount + or Peacock…etc. So, great speaker, but some of the apps just don’t play nicely with the Streambar.

I purchased the sound bar with the expectation sound would have more depth like larger speakers would sound. Not even close. Bose speakers years ago sound better, especially with music. A little disappointed.
