Q: I purchased the Radiant bike. It states 7 gears however on the handle bar there are only 3 icons. There are no numbers. I cannot find anything on the internet or in the manual. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

submitted by Sandy - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Sandy! The 7 speeds consist of high, middle, and low with gears in between each.

  • A: Hi Sandy, This model has Index Shifting. With Index Shifting, there are click stops in the shifter so that the rider has a tactile guide as to how far to move the shifter to shift from one gear to the next. Thanks!

Q: Does this bike some assembled when we receive the package?

submitted by Bev - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello Bev! Most of our models come 90% assembled. The parts that will need to be assembled are the handlebars, the pedals, the seat, and the front wheel. Happy riding!

submitted bySchwinnCustomerSupport - 2 years ago

  • A: The bikes ship partially assembled. If you choose to assemble the bike yourself, you would have to attach the handlebars, seat, pedals, and front wheel. The steps are outlined in detail in the owner's manual that will be included.

Q: What size hybrid women’s bike for a 5 foot Lady

submitted by Deb - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Deb! The best option would be between 24" - 26" sized model. It depends on the rider and what is found to be the most comfortable.

Q: Can this bike fit a toddler's seat on back?

submitted by ND - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi ND! This model has a stock rear bike rack which would not allow a child carrier to attach securely. Perhaps a bike trailer may be a better option.

Q: What does the term "hybrid" refer to?

submitted by Kathy - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Kathy! When a bike is labeled hybrid, it means the model was designed to be ridden on both road and mountain trails. Best of both worlds!

Q: How does 7 gears compare to 21 gears when riding up an incline?

submitted by Courious cosumer - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi there! Great question. A 21-speed model will provide a much wider gear range including an easier gear for hill climbing and a harder gear for higher speeds. While a 7-speed model doesn't offer as a wide a range of gears, it does require less maintenance than a 21-speed.

Nice looking bike--it has issues

2 out of 5 stars
Kathy V - 2 years ago, Verified purchaser
It's such a shame that an attractive looking bike like this has problems. Bought it to replace a bike that was too tall--this Radiant has a very low step through height (about 16 1/2 inches from floor to bottom of step through), it actually had a kickstand, and has a glittery blue finish. The bike arrived with a torn box and a scratched left crank arm (tried to attach pictures but they wouldn't upload). It came with a manual but the assembly instructions were very generic. After brake adjustments were made (difficult), it was taken for two short rides on our paved street (no potholes or debris) and the rear tire was flat the next day--no punctures in tire. Air could be heard escaping from the tube as we tried to pump it back up so there's a serious tube failure. Unable to adjust the derailleur at this point. The scratched crank arm is no big deal but the bike is unrideable now. I've emailed Pacific Cycles and they sent a received email but it will be a day before I hear more. My advise is to wait and see if Pacific Cycles and other manufacturers are able to get their inventory/supply chain and quality issues resolved before buying this bike or any other.

I purchased this bike online. Unfortunately, when it arrived the box was very damaged and clearly taped back together. Off-putting, but I was too excited to have my new bike to worry about it. When I took the bike out of the box, I noticed that the piece that holds the left pedal was scratched. I could live with that. However, the internal welding in the slot that holds that seat pole was rough, making it impossible to insert seat properly. Very disappointing.

I really wanted to like this bike and I was excited that it was a Schwinn. It was exactly what I was looking for to ride around the neighborhood with my kids. However, this is not the quality Schwinn from my childhood. First ride, the entire gear mechanism sheared off and got lodged in the wheels. Thankfully Target was great about returning it.

During the pandemic a lot of the bikes I had my eye on were sold out (assuming many people had the same idea and wanted to get some exercise during quarantine). I wanted a mountain bike with a more comfortable seat and a step in frame, and this is as close as I could get. That being said, this bike seems a tad overpriced for the ride, considering it doesn't have very good suspension (for example if I ride over an uneven sidewalk or off of a curb the whole bike shakes and sounds of metal hitting together). The gears tend to get a little stuck and don't transition very smoothly. However, it does what it is intended to do and the seat is rather comfortable, and the step in frame is a nice feature. Just not exactly the type of quality I was expecting from a nearly $300 bicycle.

I have had this bike for over a year and still love it. I ride it on short rides (5 miles or less) and it is perfect for the price and what I need it for. As a middle aged person I have to say the front shock and extra shock on the seat post are absolutely awesome Features and make it feel like riding on a cloud. It looks like it is going out of stock now but I hope for the sake of whoever is reading this and needs a bike, that it is back in stock soon because it’s a good value for the money for the recreational rider.

Very comfortable bike! I’m 5’7” and the seat needed to be adjusted just a little bit for a perfect fit. The step through frame is a great feature, really easy to get on and off. The handles and grips are comfortable too. It’s a great bike for riding around on pavement and sidewalks. It was assembled at the store for me.

Love the bike, but had to wait about two weeks for it to get delivered to the Target store. Another beef with Target is that it was missing its owner’s manual and I’m still trying to track it down. Target—can you help? Target also had a seasonal horn and a red, white and blue bell—love both! I love my Schwinn bike-perfect size for me and with urban road issues it is so comfortable.

Hard to get. Had to pick up from a store 15 miles away. It came assembled which I did not know was going to be the case. Make sure you have a bike rack or a big trunk. Rear brake very loose. Rear wheel not completely aligned. Came that way or happened in car? Don’t know. My daughter liked the bike overall so we got it repaired instead of exchanging it for possibly another bike with issues. Will be purchasing the warranty.

The Perfect Bike for College

5 out of 5 stars
Would recommend
Alisha - 5 years ago
Honestly not sure what I would do without this in college. I've had this for a year now and it is still functioning just like when I first purchased it. I love it so much that I decided to write a review for other college students looking to buy a bike. The fact that this bike has gears is a definite plus (don't get a cruiser for college) for when you're riding up/down hills or late to class and need to get there quickly. The back rack clasp is perfect for holding large items; I've used it to carry a sleeping bag and even used it to carry a rolled up mattress topper when moving dorms. I've even had friends sit on the back rack when going places and have had no problems. The back rack has the additional perk of being able to install side baskets to carry smaller items like mail and bags. Because of the slope-shaped frame, you can also install a lock holder so that your U-lock can be conveniently held against the frame. It comes with a bike stand, which is important to have if you want to lock your bike to itself instead of finding something to lock your bike to. I also love the electric blue color of the bike! It stands out and is easy to find when I park in busy areas. Overall, this bike comes with everything you need for a college bike, and I'm confident that it'll last for all four years.

Just wanted to mention the rear rack has a weight limit of 22 lbs so it's good to strap in your sleeping bag or backpack. Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. Happy riding!

Very comfortable ride for an older woman. Low step through for easy on and off. Feet touch the ground feels safer. upright positions is easier on the back and is better for visibility. gearing is smooth and easy and just right for neighborhood riding with slight inclines and hills. Best of all, the price is right. Love the blue color and style. Highly recommended.

Other reviews led me to think the bike's frame would be a little smaller. I'm 5'2" and even with the seat all the way down, it's a bit high up for me to really set my feet on the the ground. I wanted bigger than 26" tires, though so I think I may just be stuck with being a little small for an adult bike. I do a LOT of biking around town and on paved trails and the bike is perfect! It's comfortable and good quality.
